  2. Jeff Buckley's cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah
  3. Devo's cover of the Rolling Stones' I can get no Satisfaction. Love the video too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jadvt7CbH1o
  4. Finally Jane's Addiction cover of The Grateful Dead's Ripple
  5. Next we have Ambulance Ltd cover of Pink Floyd's Fearless.
  6. I have a couple. I'll start with Lovemongers' (Anna & Nancy Wilson's) cover of The Battle of Evermore.
  7. Mike very impressed with your work. What I like to do with a super detail build is appreciate each step or sub-assembly. I try to take satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment from each step. It helps me to be patient and remain enthusiastic about the build. Your excellent fuel cell for instance is a model in and of itself. Keep up the great work!
  8. Really like this. Love the color and the old school Craigers and white walls.
  9. John the build is awesome. It looks like your camera struggles with tight closeups like mine does. What I do to get a better pictures it take the photo from a bit farther away. My camera can then focus. Before I post the picture I crop away most of the background. This makes the image I want bigger and you can see all the detail.
  10. I have a couple of Tamiya bike kits (motocross and GP). You might be tempting me to build one. Nice work so far.
  11. I haven't read anything about a 351 in a Cobra. However Ken Miles built a "Fliptop" Cobra (CSX2196) and originally installed a 390. It was fast. He later installed a 427 and it just wouldn't handle.
  12. Please do post it Bruce, would love to see it.
  13. From what I have read George I would agree that the 427 Cobra did not handle well. The engine was to heavy, messed up the weight distribution. That's why the 427 wasn't a successful race car. The 289 Cobra handled far better than the 427.
  14. Very nice Steve.

Thanks again for the comments gentlemen. I put a lot of time and effort in researching my projects to get as much of the subject right as I can. Its a part of the build that I really enjoy.
  16. Oscar that is a photo from our model club meeting (Maryland Automotive Modelers Association), other member's builds on the display table.
  17. Watching "Senna" the documentary and the on-board shots, F1 was much more visceral then. I guess that's Inevitable as the cars evolve they get more sophisticated and refined and they loose a bit of the that rawness.
  18. Here is the finished product. After adding the caster I felt the body support post raised the car too high so I shortened them from 10mm to 8mm. In hind sight I should have made the wheels bigger. Here's what it looks like under a car.
  19. Added updated pictures. Hope you like them.
  20. Twenty years ago we lost perhaps the greatest driver of all time. Certainly the best driver of his era. Please post pictures of your Senna builds or any memories or thoughts you have on this legend.
  21. You can also adjust the shade of the final finish color by using light or dark primers. The same finish color sprayed over gray primer makes the finish quite a bit darker than the original color. And Vice versa when it is sprayed over white primer it comes out brighter.
  22. WOW! this is really a roller coaster ride. I can't imagine what it is like for his family.
  23. There appears to be a few different definitions of “stock” and “custom” in the thread. For instance, if I build a replica of a 1:1 custom is that a stock build? I like to build replicas of 1:1 cars (primarily race cars). I don’t find that replicating an actual car stifles my creativity. It is often quite challenging (and requires quite a bit of imagination) to create all the details, that my skill level will allow, to get as close to the 1:1 as I can. But getting back to your original question Erik I prefer to build in a manner that allows me to admire and appreciate the originals subject’s lines and form. I find I learn a lot more about the car in this manner.
  24. Thanks for the comments gentlemen. I have about 6-hours in building this which involved figuring out time. If you wanted to build one you could probably do it in half that.
  25. I can't leave it without casters so we'll make a set. Using the same square tubing we cut small wedges and open the narrow end to create the wheel bracket. Then with some solid rod, I am using 0.125 we cut slices the inside width of the bracket. The caster need a mounting flange so we cut them form 0.020 sheet plastic, mine are 5mm square. After assembling the pieces we have a good representation of a caster which will be mounted on the bottom of the stand's legs.
