  1. I am confused about all the secrecy surrounding Schumacher's condition. I understand the family wanting privacy but I don't see the harm in providing some status as to his condition.
  2. One of the most challenging aspects of this build is the air extractor in the nose of the car. Here is my attempt to recreate this complex shape. It not exactly like the 1:1 but its not bad.
  3. Cool project Ron, looking forward to more.
  4. If any one chooses to tackle "Le Monstre" there is a good article in Issue #5 of Motor Racing Replica News with plans and information on how to build one.
  5. I think (2) dozen is the official limit.
  6. Looks like it will be 2016 before Haas Formula will compete.
  7. Here is the kit I am starting with to create GT40 P/1005 The kits body is usable but the chassis and interior are sub-par so my intention is to use a Fujimi GT40 chassis. As you can see from this picture the wheel base is quite close but will require significant modifications to lower the entire chassis to fit the shallower LS/Arii body. After quite a bit of work I was able to make the chassis fit the body.

    Tyrrell P34

Very nice Shay, and it certainly was real.
  9. Personally I would leave the chrome trim off, it breaks up the flow of the graphics.
  10. The HRM kit which is waay more detailed looks like a bargain at $175.
  11. Mike, my entry is the '65 GT40 P/1005 entered by Suderia Filipinetti.
  12. I have two completed Le Mans builds ('66 GT40 and a '63 Cobra Hardtop). Working on a '65 Le Mans' GT40 now.
  13. Welcome. There are lots of great car modelers on this forum. You can learn a lot here.
  14. Outstanding as usual Jeremy, I checked this out on you FB page.
  15. Wow Simon that's a killer build! Why haven't I seen that in "Under Glass"? Is this the Esci kit or the new Tamiya? Where are the decals from? Details Simon, I need details.

    '70 Porsche 914/6

Thanks Scott. The build thread is here that shows the modifications.
  17. Jason, what happened with this build?
  18. Glad to Help Bill. Can't wait to see the build.
  19. Alex, those could be made in the same way I did the Detail Master set. Just install the Fuchs center in a very shallow rim.
  20. I am not Simon please post pictures if you have a set.
  21. Turned out fantastic.
  22. Haven't had much bench time but have got a little accomplished. The kit rear glass mounts from the inside. On the 1:1 car the glass installed from the outside. After filling the molded in glass bead I made a template of the opening and cut a piece of clear acetate for the glass. I then cut a piece of .010 styrene and trimmed it to be just smaller than the opening and glued it in place. The rear glass will now mount to the exposed lip around the opening. By correcting the glass installation I can now attach the engine cover to the rear body section as it should.
  23. Kevin Glibert (Giraffe) performing Genesis' Back in NYC. I chose to post the live version it rocks a lot harder but the studio version is excellent as well. If you don't know of Kevin Gilbert you should check out his career here:
  24. Here are a few aftermarket sets.
