  1. Thanks Brayden. The transaxle is from a Fujim's Enthusiast Porsche 911 kit. I modified it by shortening it slightly and relocating the mounting bracket to the top of the gearbox.
  2. Small update: chassis painted and engine installed.
  3. It's confirmed Haas has signed a multi-year deal with Ferrari. Story here
  4. The teams has changed its name to Haas F1 Team and launched their website here:

  8. Warren Haynes-Gov't Mule About 3:17 he starts some tasty guitar work. Matt Abts on drums ain't to shabby either.
  9. Take one of the sexiest cars ever and put it on steroids and you get the Lightwieight. One of my all time favorites.

  11. Great weathering. Just enough without too much.
  12. A man suspected to be involved in the case surrounding Michael Schumacher's stolen medical records has been found hanged in his prison cell, according to Zurich prosecutors. The man, whose name has not been released, is said to have worked for Swiss air ambulance service Rega, which was involved in the organisation of the transfer of Schumacher from a Grenoble hospital to Switzerland on June 16. A statement said the suspect was found dead in his cell on Wednesday morning having been apprehended the day before for the violation of patient privacy and medical secrecy. It added there was no indication a third party was involved in man's death. Soon after Schumacher's move to Switzerland his manager Sabine Kehm confirmed the theft of the documents, which French newspaper Le Dauphine Libere reported were offered up for sale to various media outlets for around 60,000 Swiss francs (£39,000). Schumacher's medical files had been shared with all the medical and rescue teams involved in planning the move. The records were never published. Schumacher suffered severe head injuries while on a skiing holiday in the French Alps on December 29 and had been treated at Grenoble University Hospital, where he spent six months in a medically-induced coma. Details of Schumacher's condition have not been released to the public in that time, with official updates on his progress coming through statements from his family and manager. The man, who was due to be questioned on Wednesday, denied the allegations. Read more at http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/170655.html#UfyGZzKCTOVKAdpy.99
  13. I built this kit a few year ago. It's an excellent kit. Just take your time applying the decals and they will work out fine.
  14. Nice start Dale.

Scott, here is a chassis shot.
  16. They would look great on a 1/24 scale go-kart.
  17. You have my attention as well. I would love the see a Cortina kitted in 1/24 scale in any form.
  18. Well said Pete, My approach (if not quite my skill level) to model building closely resembles yours.
  19. Ken you might be interested in my completed 914/6 street car. The pictures are here.
  20. Where did the wheels/tires come from?
  21. Cool project Rob. I had to do a search to find out what a Futurliner was/is. I wouldn't be interested in purchasing a kit of this vehicle. However based on the quality of what I have seen so far if you were to produce a 1/24 scale vintage Ferrari/Porsche/Aston Martin/etc. race car, I'm in.

Thank you very much for the comments. I thought the silver painted grease cap and lug nuts where a bit too much so have blackened them out. I will post an updated picture soon. Edit: here are the pictures for comparison. Now: Before:
  23. Haven't tried the photo etch seat belt sets yet. Are they harder to work with than the tape/paper/ribbon variety?
  24. Here is the completed engine minus the exhaust. Porsche ran twin plugs and twin coils on their race engines, yep 14 wires coming out of the distributor. The Weber Carburetors and the trans-axle come from the HRM trans-kit. All other parts are supplied from the Fujimi kit. The kit I took the engine from was missing the fan. Since the front of the engine cannot be seen on the completed model I substituted some flat stock to replicate the fan.
  25. Leaving certain parts off or not going for an extra detail is not always a bad thing. There have been times when I have regretted installing a poorly formed kit part or attempting to add extra detail if the results have turned out poorly. Bad parts or poor scratch building efforts can drag a model down. What you don't try to add to your latest build can impact the results more significantly than what you attempt to add and fail at. Adding out of scale spark plug wires are a perfect example.
