  1. Great tips Kasey. That Trumpeter saw looks very handy, wish I knew where to buy one.
  2. Bill, The Daytona Coupe vamach1 posted is the HRM kit built by a MAMA member. I disagree that the Arii kit is a good representation of the '65 Daytona car. The nose on the kit is too flat and extended. However I don't think the Arii kit is a total loss. I am going to give it a go and see what I can do with it. Keep any eye out for it soon "On the Workbench"
  3. Here is the LS/Arii kit. Lets see, the box calls it the '64 Daytona Winner (it actually won in '65). It includes the decals for #72 car (#73 actually won). And the body looks nothing like the Ford GT. But other than those minor foibles they really nailed this kit. The LS version includes these really nice turned aluminum/white metal Halibrands that my friend 65slotcar snatched from the kit before he dumped it on me.
  4. For clarity: Ford GT (ch # 103) – ’65 Daytona 1st-OA, ‘65 Sebring 1st-Class GT40 MkII (ch # 1046) – ’66 Le Mans 1st-OA Ford MkIV (ch # J4) – ’67 Sebring 1st-OA Ford MkIV (ch # J5) – ’67 Le Mans 1st-OA GT40 MkI (ch # 1075) – ’68 Le Mans 1st-OA GT40 MkI (ch # 1075) – ’69 Le Mans 1st-OA
  5. Not really my kind of build but I am very impressed with your flairs.
  6. Exhaust system painted thus completing the chassis Still fighting with the paint job however but we are getting there
  7. If you are going to force me to look around and through your watermark then I am chosing to "unfollow" your build
  8. Very nice Dale.
  9. Erik, I really like this build, but I must agree that your watermark in the center of the picture is very distracting.
  10. A mesh grill would look great Ron. It's warm enough today. Hope you get your primer down.
  11. I posted this a while ago but I thought this build deserved some better pictures.
  12. My 325 doesn't quite sound like that - must be something wrong with it.
  13. I am currently gathering information and parts in hopes of building the '67 Eagle in 1/24 scale. It might take awhile to get everything together but if I think I can pull it off I will post the build.
  14. Michael, The kit was water damaged when I purchased it. I think that's where the corrosion came from.
  15. Here is the after picture: There is still some discoloration that it's not picking up in the picture but its a big improvement. Thanks again Joseph
  16. Awesome link Greg, thanks for posting it.
  17. Very Nice Ken. I have Hasegawa's 1/24 scale kit of the RA272E. It's on my must build list.
  18. I saw Cracker (well actually only David Lowery & Johnny Hickman) perform acoustically in a record store in College Park, MD on my 30th b-day. One of the songs they played was Eurotrash Girl. It was a great present to myself.
  19. Hey Joseph, the vinegar/salt solution really seem to be working! I'll post pictures when I thinks it finished.
  20. Daniel Ricciardo's 2nd place finish was excluded from the results because of fuel delivery violations. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/112965
  21. Bill, I want to save sanding for the last resort. Joseph how long should it stay in the vinegar/salt solution?
  22. Casey, you have inspired me to build a Ford C600 race car hauler. Picked up the Stake Bed kit at our model meeting yesterday so I'll be following your build. Keep up the excellent work.
  23. I bought a kit recently with damaged photoetch. It appears to be corroded. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I might restore the photoetch?
  24. Thunder Valley Miniatures did a nice trans-kit of the MkI. It's long out of production but with the release of Fujimi's MKI it has pretty much become obsolete, except for the very nice wheels/tires. Fujimi took a short cut with their MkI kit in that the used the MkII rear tires that are much too narrow for the MkI. Compare the TVM set on the left with Fujimi’s on the right.
