  1. Pretty much the same pictures as early this morning but MUCH better ambient light........still much work to do.
  2. That is good.......thanks Bill! First impression's are everything right? Thanks Kerry!
  3. Hope you'll agree Skip that it looks better now......put about 4 hours into cutting it off and redoing it.
  4. Thanks again Richard! Was quite busy on this and the Ferrari this weekend!! Cut off the front end of the Maserati, used one of the casted front ends (that GerN sent me, thanks again Gerald!) cut the top section off where it met the hood and grafted it in. Started sculpting in the body lines on the sides and back, and did yet another complete wetsand! ......here are some pics!! (Sorry for the poor lighting! The flash would have been tooooo bright!! I'll get some better ones later today...)
  5. Just an awesome looking vette Mike! GREAT job on it!!!
  6. I have that Fujimi 288 GTO waiting to be built. I myself am on the hunt for the elusive Italeri 288 GTO......if only I could just right click, save as, and 3d print yours Gerry!
  7. Thank you so much for the support Clint! Maybe I'll have to try that stuff next! Hee hee maybe you are right......!
  8. Thank you sir! Yup, it was just a little too short on length.
  9. Thanks Ray. Just trying to share some of it by offering up car bodies that were skipped over....
  10. Thanks Mike! Glad you like it.
  11. I don't know......it just comes to me.....sometimes in my sleep Thanks Oscar!
  12. Thanks for the comments and interest guys!! Was busy today on this.....tried a new product that was recommended for what I do. Aves Apoxie Sculpt. Like using clay but hardens like concrete after 24 hours! LOVE IT so far. Had to go wider on the wheelwells, but will narrow them accordingly when dry.
  13. As promised earlier this morning.......pics of progress at yesterday's point. Threw some wheels under it to mess around. The smoothing of the body has just begun.....so bear with me for now.....
  14. Thanks Dan! Thank you Fred!
  15. Thanks guys! Should have an update round of photos soon........installed the roof on it today.
  16. I have barely begun to "sculpt" the body into final shape . It will undergo a metamorphosis soon......I guarantee you that. Then, you will see all the smoothness come in to match the 1:1. Would love to know where Matt got the grille material from.......need it for this AND the Ferrari. Thank you Kerry!
  17. Thanks Ira! You (of all people) know what I am up against here! Thank you sir. This will be offered up when done for resin casting so others will be able to enjoy it as well........soon.
  18. Thanks Bill! The roof is just sitting on top of the body at the moment.....it will be a scale 2 inches lower when settled. Thanks Greg! You will probably see this one in the near future as well!
  19. Been a little while since I gave an update on this, I have been working feverishly on the rear end of this build......I started all over again in the best interest of the finished product. Used a Maserati 3500GT model kit for the basis of the build and began from there. Starting with the rear quarters....cut off the existing ones and rotated them horizontal and shaped to a rough point. The rear quarter tops are from the AMT 67 GTO, the rear quarter fronts are left over pieces from the 57 chevy, the rear rolled pan is from the resin Thunderbird front bumper, the rear plate bracket is from the 53 Corvette trunk, and the roof is from the Tamiya 911 GT3. Still not sure if I will leave the doors opening or not....will be more work if I do. Still has a LONG way to go! It's coming along better at this point though I think......
  20. Keep it going Mike! The front end is getting real close to the reference!! Very ambitious!! I'm watching.
  21. There are a few maybe that I am interested in, but I enjoy taking an old played out kit, chopping it into many pieces, added many pieces from other kit bodies and creating something that the model companies wouldn't put their time and money into producing.
  22. Casey, do you think it was the difference in size that a played a part? Between 1/24 and 1/25? I have run into issues trying to mix the two scales in the past......I wish sometimes they would have picked one scale and stuck with it.
