  1. Hey Kevin. Wondering if you have been able to finish this kit off? Also, was wondering what you used for the radiator core support and the cover in front of same? Looks like same cover/part that Sports Suburban used on his '70 GTO convertible. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/115427-70-gto-judge-convertible/
  2. Cool thanks for the lead Jack. Anyone got one laying around in their parts bin they don't plan on using. Just did a check of the bay and not seeing any kits being offered of the AMT '68 Firebird.
  3. Super cool. Love it.
  4. I'm trying to locate a kit or an aftermarket source that made the louvered flat air cleaners that were on many of the stock '65 to '67 Pontiac GTO's that came with the four barrel carbs. Looks like the one in the attached image.
  5. Which is too bad. I've been searching the bay for awhile now trying to get more. Have one set but could use two more sets. Don
  6. Beautiful build Ken. Love everything about it.
  7. Thanks Steve. Good point. I'll test first to make sure I'm not getting gelcoat seats. This is actually interior paint for the real deal from Classic Industries. Supposed to be touch up for '68 Firebird interior which was the same color as my old Goat interior. But your point is taken on the verdoro green touch up. Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and pick up the MCW paint.
  8. The MCW prices seem kinda steep considering you only get 1 oz of paint. I ended up ordering a 12 oz can of spray from Classic and figured I'd decant and airbrush. I'll probably do the same with the verdoro green. That should be easy to get from my local paint guys. Thanks though for all the suggestions. Now I need to update the Monogram interior to represent a '68.
  9. Awesome! Thanks for the leads gents. Much appreciated. Don
  10. Wondering if anyone knows of a source for paint that replicates the Ivy Gold interiors on mid '60's Pontiac GTO's. I'd like to replicate the old '68 GTO I had way back in the day that was painted Verdoro green with an Ivy Gold interior. MCW carries the verdoro green but can't find a good match for the Ivy color. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don
  11. Any update on this kit Kevin? Was following along. Looking great so far.
  12. WOW! That is a gorgeous build. Great job on saving this old girl. Immaculate paint and finish.
  13. Great job Tommy on a tough kit. This one has the same headlight issues as their '70 GTO kit. You did an excellent job cleaning them up and giving them depth.
  14. Thanks for the info Ron. Kinda what I was afraid of. If I can lay my hands on an extra headlight/grill piece, I may try my hand at drilling/grinding out the buckets. Not sure how to polish everything out afterwards to get it chromed....
  15. I feel your pain. I keep a set of ViseGrips on the bench to open stubborn MM paint jars. Just be careful not to apply too much pressure or you'll rip the lid right off the bottle!
  16. Not my daily drivers but in the garage still and taken to work occasionally. Heavily shown during the summer. '66 Ford T-Bird And my '70 Pontiac GTO. Numbers matching PHS documented. I love these cars.
  17. So I've done a search on the interweb to see if any of the aftermarket folks have done correct headlight buckets for the MPC '70 GTO kit. No luck with my searches. Is anyone aware of such a product? The headlights that come in the kit are closer to the '71-72 headlights where the lens sits flush with the front of the bucket. The '70 lights sat much deeper in the buckets. I'm trying to build a replica of the 1:1 '70 goat I have in my garage and the headlight buckets that come in the kit just don't look right. Don
  18. Very clean build. Gotta love them old Fords.
  19. Cool build and really amazing weathering.
  20. Really nice work on your Javelin Snake. Looks the part.
  21. Couldn't agree more Mark! Again, this is such a great build. Gratz!
