LF Pontiac Limelight Green Metallic Paint
drifterdon replied to drifterdon's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Most excellent. Thanks so much Steve. I searched and gave up. I have a bunch of MCW paints so this is good news. Don Just purchased a large order from MCW including this limelight green and a dk green interior paint. -
Awesome build sir. That color is gorgeous.

Wow, thanks for the link Matt. I had my right clicker, "save as" button going like crazy to make sure I kept all these pics for references. Probably one of the best walk arounds I've seen for a '69 Judge. And I think this is the first time I've seen a Judge with a vinyl top. I didn't think they did those but it's right on the order sheet and window sticker. And you're right, plenty of pics to give me an accurate idea for the rear spoiler.

I have several of the Monogram/Revell '69 GTO Judge kits and have never thought the rear spoiler was correct. It just looks off. Seems to stand too far up from the trunk and doesn't rake back enough. I thought AMT included something that looks similar to the '69 spoiler on the parts trees of the '67 and '72 GTO kits but that isn't much better than the Monogram part. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AMT 1968 GTO with aftermarket open headlight grille.
drifterdon replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
It was the '69 LeMans/Tempest bumper that was different from the endura bumper found on the '68 and '69 GTO's. When Pontiac came out with the endura bumper in '68, they weren't sure how the public would like it so they offered an endura delete option where you could get the chrome bumper found on the LeMans/Tempest. They dropped the delete option in '69. The 68/69 GTOs shared the same endura bumper. Hopefully I didn't offend you by telling you something that you already knew. Just trying to be helpful..... -
Really sharp paint on this Mopar. Love that Bronze color. Can't wait to see the final pics when you get her done. Super nice.

Amazing job on your 68 Goat. Really looks good with those non-retractable headlights. Curious if anyone ever made a chrome front bumper for the 68 GTO/Tempest/LeMans. Would make a nice alternative to build the 68 GTO with the Endura delete option. Well done Randy! -
Amazing build. At first I thought I was looking at a 1:1 car. Flawless paint and finish.
-
Stellar build! Love that shade of green.

Beautiful GTO! Looks absolutely like the real deal. So glad they brought the '68 back in kit form.

So I just picked up the Boss 351 kit and my example has a cracked windshield right down the middle. Anyone else have this problem or did I just get lucky and get that one kit? I've already contacted Revell and requested a replacement part. Other that this one issue, this is an amazing kit and can't wait to get started.

AMT 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible.

This is absolutely the most detailed build I've ever seen. All you need is to turn the key, start her up and drive away. That realistic. Incredible job sir. Your WIP is my new tutorial on how to build a model car. -

Thank you sir for the info. I think I have the Ventura kit in my stash. I would also love to see someone do up some reflectors/lenses for sale. I've purchases multiple sets of lenses off ebay hoping they'd fit my project. Again, amazing build. This one is going to be saved as a tutorial on model car building! -

Amazing attention to detail sir. If I may ask, what did you use to make your headlight reflectors? I'm working on updating the '70 GTO and have drilled out the headlights to get rid of the unrealistic buckets. I have replacement headlight lenses but would love to replicate the reflectors like you have. Don -

This is such an amazing build. You know, depending on which states license plate you were going to put on this, many had column mounted registration holders. Similar to this... -

Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks you have the correct firing order on the distributor and plug wires. And I've worked on many old Pontiacs that had this same level of dirt and grime. Stunning work sir. -
This just keeps getting better and better Seth.

Looking great Michael.

I'll be watching. Love the '66 Bird. I own the real deal. (It's my profile pic)

I'm just blown away with what level of detailing Steve is doing here. Absolute stunner so far. It's giving me lot's of ideas for my future builds. -
Gunmetal grey over bright red. It's the car in my profile pic.

Great looking Bird. I own a full sized one that I hope to build into a 1/25 replica one of these days.
