Hi folks. Did not get to build as many as i wanted in 2016. Main problem is paint logistics and broken promises, not going into that subject. I`d like to wish everyone a New Year. Already exctited to watch what you guys crank up on the under glass and workbench for 2017. Here are the ones i got done.

Reading these 3D threads and watching online everything that average joes can acomplish, stuff i assumed companies with unlimited funds could do. These tiny figurines with amazing detail got me thinking if there was possibillities to 3D print model car scripts & lettering? Sure there are photo-etch set`s avaliable, but very limited offerings if you step a little bit outside of building the kit`s companies offer. I asked prices for custom photo-etch sets and i got mixed answers what the cost would be. Ok,so my question is,what would the cost be to get 3D printed scripts and/or lettering in 1:24/1:25 scale? There can be had custom made decals, but as for my part it really dont cut it when it comes to scripts.

I got one of these as a junkyard, was after the fleetside box, grill and chassis-plate. Also got a very cheap Hasegawa Honda Civic SIR 1,6 vtec to use with ZoomOn trans-kit. Other small stuff as styrene sheets, and heard a lot of good about the Tamiya liquid cement,so got one of those. Oh,and a 63 Bonneville rear grill insert.

Nicest 4 banger; your thoughts.
om617 replied to aurfalien's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Honda B and K and F series are great engines, the ultimate 4 banger in stock form would be the S2000 engine. Toyota makes some great N/A four bangers, example the 4AGE 20valve. The BMW S13 and the Mercedes 2,3 16v (European version) & 2,5 16v are also great fun to drive. I`m partly biased owning the 2,5 16v myself. It range from 204hp (194 kat) to 380-400 in race trim. Offenhauser is great engine, also really good looking. Ford BDA the same, and lot`s of racing pedigree. -

Scale model of the Week
om617 replied to Vietnam Vet67's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I bought a mint in scruffy box 68 a year or two back, also have two rebuilders of the one on pictured at the top. Would love to have the 67,would look good next to the 67 Toronado. What about a Hurst Cadillac? Anyone know the story behind it? -

$30+ kits - hows it affect you?
om617 replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The only kit`s i seen that goes above $25 are some Galaxie kit`s,as an example the new Bronco is $16 or $18,this is on Ebay where i do most buying. I could see foreign cars cost more,Japanese brands, but if you go to a Japanese online store, the US cars cost over $40. I dont buy new kit`s,mostly old junk and parts, enjoy the fix,and now and then some resins. For me the price isn`t that much of a deal because i rarely buy. I could get 5 junkers one month, and zero the next.
