I guess the only downside is the chassis, but this also are common on vintage AMT screw bottom kits. Do not have many mint ones, have become to expensive because of shipping over here. But i try get build ups and try fix them,i love the many cool subjects, also with the vintage AMT and SMP. Btw the Lindberg 64 Color Me Gone chassis is close to perfect fit on the 63 and 64 Polara`s from Johan if you decide to get detail chassis and arent to concerned about it having to be 100% stock. The Johan engines are as nice as any other engines besides having a hole in the block for the wheel axle.

Suggestions prep resin body for paint.
om617 replied to om617's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Been testing the Purple Power stuff, and here are some experiences so far. It strips chrome like a champ and also does not harm resin. I soaked 3 resin bodys for 2 days,no problem at all. It has no effect on Tamiya metallics, also there is close to no effect on certain solid colors. Have been soaking some old build-up`s. I assume it would need to be soaked several weeks for any effective strip. I dont have patience for such so i will be getting Scale Coat paint stripper for more aggressive treatment on the styrene parts. I used Humbrol Acrylic Thinner to wash the Tamiya metallics,it works but is time consuming and the smell is horrible. -
Tamiya TS13 right out of the can. Also testing Mr Hobby Super Clear, the Mr Hobby clear imo comes more gentle on. Have used TS13 over decals with no problem.

Thank for the photos, very helpful. As seen on the first picture posted by Steve,i noticed one dash who got tachometer installed on the area where the clock is. Kinda cool feature. I`m very excited to start on this and even got original paint (Wich i hopefully will not screw up) who cost a fortune mixed on rattle can. The model does not have to be 100% replica, and it`s not going to be a Hemi. Thanks for the info so far to all of you.

Aha,yes i do have the resin body. I belive this body is based upon the MPC 68 R/T kit. It does not have the two air intakes like the car on my first post, but the bulge in the middle of the hood. Do you know if the 68 R/T shared the dash with the 68 Charger,or is this maby just another bogus story? I could not find any referance pictures to confirm it. Edit: Here is where i bought it http://stores.smhracing.com/mpc-68-coronet/

The Super Bee was a mid year offer based on the Coronet 440. I`m not building a Super Bee.
-
Thanks for the offer Michael. I would still be in short of glass, engine compartment and chassis so i`m hoping to find a complete kit.

From the research i done so far it goes from buckets, bench and bench with armrest. No high back buckets for 1968.
-
Thanks for the info guys. I think i`ll go for the 68 Road Runner for the more correct seats. I belive 70 have the high buckets?

Is looking very good. I like what you did on the engine compartment for more crisp detail. -
Hello. Anyone know what would be a good donor for a 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T? Mostly for chassis, interior and glass. How would the 68 AMT Road Runner be? Thanks Tommy

My point is,sometimes i dont know what i want before i see it. And even when i see it,i do not always know what it`s called,it`s name and number, let`s say a set of wheels and tires. So if i go on Modelhaus and look for it,the description is completely greek for me,because i dont know what it`s called, and there is pictures either. If no one see a problem with this i guess its just me then. Here is a great album: http://public.fotki.com/jsharisky/modelhaus_resin_items/

Lots of cheap grind, sand and polish pads + 200 zip lock bags and storaga organizer from China lol. Dremel multitool. Tired of sanding and grind resin by hand. 24 flocking colors set and a fine mesh strainer. Revell 67 Camaro 2 in 1. SMH 68 Dodge Coronet resin. Heater hoses by Parks. Two 400ml rattle can with mixed Mopar colors. Burnt orange & Lime green metallic.

How many topics on this forum alone where people are asking about Modelhaus products do you think you will find? This is my point,if you cant see the product you doubt and skip it,well if you dont go on here and ask questions first. Also this question comes up 20 times a week on Facebook "Is it any good" "Heard about it but there is no pictures" etc.
-
First thing that should happen if there is to be any new owner is a decent website with good pictures of what they offer. Even if someone say the products are excellent (And they are) many will not take anyones word for it,but actually want to see what they are getting into. I cant prove it but i bet the increase in sales would skyrocket when people actually can see the products. I feel my self-control is decent, but when is see pictures and ideas pop-up in my head as i go thru content i close to always have to purchase somthing, even if it`s small, wheels and maby tires etc.

So why not order straight from HLJ. All the way to Norway is 8 or 9 dollars for an entire model kit size box. -

You dont need lot`s of experience, what you need is patience. If you dont have it forget about resin. -
Nice Mustang, really like the color and those big brakes.
