Great job and very nicely done conversion. Agree with you on the wagons, cant get enough of them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Seen some who kinda look like they are transparant and have color inside, looks like real petrol filters. Bill: The size would be 1:24/1:25 scale kits.

Hello. Where do i start searching for realistic looking "fuel filters"? I do not have old electric equipment i can use as donor. Maby there is any online shop who offers in the right size and do maby sell a batch of 10 or 20? I`m not sure what the electric components are called in English,so if anyone could give a tip on what search words to use, maby at Ebay or such it would be great. Thanks. Tommy

Looks really good. If you go for the 5 spoke, have you consider paint the spokes alu or gun-metal? All chromed they kinda look like those Jada Toys wheels,of coarse taste is diffrent from person to person. -

I dont see any harm in giving constructive advice, this is if you actually know what you are talking about. The worst part is people who arrogant rant out about flaws that in reality is correct,it`s like they did not even bother do the research before they come on with the bs. If people arent 100% sure, and even then, try be a bit humble and adress the arguments in a polite manner. Also a thing to have in mind is we cant see people facial expression or tone of voice on forums,so it might be a good idea to question the argument before jumping to conclusions all offended. -
Really cool build.

om617 replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Interior is beautiful. Interesting paint scheme on the body, but if i know you right it will look great foiled up and everything added. Those awful moldlines you described are also located on a convertible body i have,a real pita to get good. -
Coming along nicely. Those fog/driving lights are awsome.

What did you see on the road today?
om617 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh i love the Olds. Could you throw it in a box and ship it over? -
Cool subject and judging from the El Camino it`s going to be awsome. Notice one of these on Ebay, but the price was crazy and the bidding not even finish.

If you could only choose ONE photo of any of your builds, wich would it be?

I usually dont go onto links but i`m glad i did on this one. This is incredible workmanship. -
Thanks for the suggestions. Never thought of that and would probably have left it as is. The donor for engine compartment here is the 70 Super Bee from AMT (Purple car on box),i do not have instructions from this kit, also i`m not really sure if i have the wiper motor or beep beep horn. Any idea for where to get the correct part? I do have another AMT 68 Road Runner build up,maby i can find some stuff there. Interesting info, thanks.

Little more fiddle with the engine bay. Will take all parts apart again and do a better finish on it,just a mock up now. The paint was returned,it was sent to the wrong adress,so they shipped new paint to me and should be here in not to long. I got another can Plum Crazy free of charge because of they`re mistake. Here is what i aim for. I might go stripe delete and skip the vinyl roof, also not sure about wheel/tire yet.

Could it be done (50/53 Cadillac)
om617 replied to om617's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I cant use the Franklin Mint because the quarter panels are very diffrent,i`m sure some who is more skilled then me could pull it off,but it`s to much work. Thanks everyone for the input. First,i will not charge for labor and time,i actually looking forward to this,as a challenge for myself it this makes sense. I see the Modelhaus kit as the best soulution, what worry me is getting the bumpers done,i have no experience at all myself with casting. There is also no budget on this build. Thanks Richard, i`ll look into the Cadillac`s listed on Ebay and see if there comes up some who arent in mint condition. If anyone know someone who know someone who has parts or a junker i`ll be very interested, also since it`s not out of my pockets i`m sure the be willing to pay what ever is asked for. I find it strange the 53 Eldorado never was kitted. -
Hello. Friend of mine stopped by some days ago and we got talking cars and the topic turned into models and i told him how it is today with all the vendors and huge aftermarket supply. So now he want me to build hes car, wich of coarse made me nervous because i`m far from a pro. He looked at some models i have built lately and said i had to make hes car. Recently he bought a 1953 Cadillac Coupe, this is a 2door hardtop, but there is no 53 avaliable as i know off. My idea is to use the Modelhaus 1950,and maby if i can find someone who is skilled at casting to maby use the bumpers from a Franlin Mint 53 Eldorado? The rest is very close if not identical in many ways. Does anyone know if there is casters who do work on comission? Also i was wondering if there is correct paint to be bought? Here are some pictures . As i understand the Modelhaus 50 is curbside. Appriciate any input.

Those are cool Don. Never seen the Alfa Romeo before, must be rare. I bought an AMT 58 Bonneville convertible i plan on convert to hardtop, and a AMT 60 Bonneville convertible easy restore project. I assume this maby are of the craftsman series, not much chassis or any engine detail. I found a AMT 64 Pontiac GP nice box with lot`s of custom parts and a tub in good condition on Ebay, the tub i have on my GP are more or less shot, damaged by old glue. So it`s been a good day for models lol
