ROUND2/AMT 1969 GTX QUESTION......
om617 replied to AC Norton's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I dont think the 1:1 69 GTX have the air grabber hood. http://www.apexautosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/IMG_36531.jpg -
Great piece, been trying to find one of these at the right price forever. Bob Cline on Facebook got your front bumper, rechromed originals. He got tons of rechromed bumpers for Ford,Mopar and GM. Bought this last night, should be here soon. Thanks to 59-Desoto on the forum for helping me out.

Dieselpunk Alternate Reality Turbine Hybrid II: Design Adjustments
om617 replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I like your vision of this, going to be really cool. -
Excellent work. Chassis on these are very nice if you can ignore the screw holes.

Coming along nicely.

The truck is a Chevrolet. I noticed now, picture of both the Chevy and Ford on the side of the box. The definition is maby a subjective thing but if everything is there and in overall good condition,i think it`s a good buy. Sounds good, and cant wait to see what you will do with it. I recently had 30+ bumpers sent to USA for plating,a buddy of mine who is a member on here did the mounting and help me out with deliver it,the result was excellent and fair priced. Actually it would have cost me twice if i was to get replacement resin bumpers. Tommy

The Coment has longer wheelbase then the Falcon and Mustang, both kit and the real deal as i could find online.
-
This is great info if you are certain it will fit the wheelbase. After going thru a Mustang and Falcon chassis i put mine back in the box lol. My biggest problem will be to find a stock hood, these where all curbside. Maby there is a vendor out there who hopefully could cast a stock hood.

Would be this or the w112 coupe.

As it is now. The glass should be right around the corner. I dont know if it`s just me but the Ultra Bright Chrome seem like garbage to me. It either stick to much or not at all. I consider do the foil all over again from the belt line all over with regular. Used some Revell 68 Charger seats and found a spare console,AMT i assume,it will need some work. Put on some flocking on the floor and BMF on door panels.

Those rings looks fantastic. So much more realistic over some aftermarket rings. Great work.

I`m not familiar with these kits but the Nova builds i have seen looks pretty good. Is it the body you found incorrect or? I thought about use the Bonneville as a donor for some vintage AMT kits, chassis and drivetrain, but as said i have no experience with these kits. Noticed the Bonneville convertible is reasonable on Ebay. I`m impressed by all the parts on the Nova kit,the hood hinges are working photo-etch.

Finally got the Ventura,it is seriously stuffed with parts, and everything seem to be in excellent shape. Since i had two of one old vintage junker i decided to part with one,and traded for 3 Novas.

I agree on the Hobby Design parts being the best, really crisp and nice detail. I bought some engine parts to a Supra from Model Meister and it was really poor quality, pinholes, lots of flash and some areas on the Turbo it looks like the resin did not reach,so the material was thinner then flash. Close to junk beside the intake and wastgate.

Couple 60's Mopar kit questions
om617 replied to Lordmodelbuilder's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The 65 could be the AMT Hemi Charger 3 in 1. As Mark said, the 64 Fury is Johan. If you want to get stock parts Modelhaus is one option, they should have everything you need besides engines. These parts are resin, but of excellent quality, and most parts,if not all bumpers, grills, ornaments etc are plated. . Another option is to look on Ebay for those who part out original kits, there is a big chance of score original styrene parts pretty cheap depending on subject. -
Orange paint search(video added)
om617 replied to CarLover's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Tamiya TS31 Beight Orange should be really close. I assume there are hobby stores in Israel, also online who can get you paint. -
X2. Also what got me back into the hobby. I would say all my improvements are thanks to the tips, tricks and feedback from people on here.

Okay thanks. Looks like i will have to make 2 part molds for these items. Here is another product that looks interesting and easy to work with.
