  1. This one is now done. I'll get some finished pictures and post them tomorrow.
  2. Chassis almost done, and the motor is in. Also compounding the body.
  3. Nice to see progress on this. I have a Fiero that I've owned for 23 years now. It's a mild custom and has over 235,000 miles on it. I started building a model that will come very close to mine but set it aside a while ago. I just found wheels that are very close to mine and plan to restart it in a couple of months. Good luck with yours, it's looking great.
  4. This looks like a fun build. Good luck.
  5. Thanks Renegade. Here's a close up of the detail on the valve cover. Pretty nice I think.
  6. Started on this kit. I painted the body in the fall so I could work on in the bad weather.
  7. I got this off of E-Bay. I just built a 53 Corvette, and decided I wanted to do a gasser version of the same car. I picked this 55 kit, because it has some drag parts in it. Now I need to decide if I want to do it with a high front end or a normal stance front. There are so many ways I could go, I have a Gibson small block that's injected. the parts pack 283 that was included in the deal, the motor in the kit or a big block. Plus injected or blown. So many choices, I think I'll take a nap.
  8. I will be doing a gasser model in the future. I won a 55 Vette kit on E-Bay that has a drag version, and comes with a V-8. The seller included a Revell Parts Pack 283 in the sale, and I also have a fuel injected Gibson mouse engine , or I may go with a big block. Between what comes with the kit and my spare parts box I should be able to do a nice build.
  9. Thanks for the compliments to all. I'm looking for another 53 to do a gasser. Someone showed me a You Tube video of a 53 called the Tijuana Taxi. I found some kits on E-Bay but not for as good a price as Ollie's.
  10. I like the keys and picture on the dash. Nice touch
  11. Thanks all. I'm looking for another one to build a gasser version, and I can use the parts from that to replace the broken pieces on this build. I'm really hoping I ca use the screen mesh to make more realistic headlight screens. I have some flexible clear plastic that I could make the license plate cover out of. It is a nice kit. The only big problem I had was getting the front end lower. I picked it up at Ollie's for eight bucks, and I've been back there twice hoping to find another but I guess they're all gone. I have seen some other kits pop up there after they have a big sale on them, so there's still hope. If not I'll (choke cough gasp) have to pay more for it.
  12. I'm back on this build. I repainted the body and got some more of the trim work done. I plan on playing around on the weathering I found by accident working on this one. I didn't like the way the bed floor decal looks so I made one out of a thin piece of wood and used black wash on it.
  13. Just finished. I broke a few clear parts while doing this one. I broke one of the clear headlights and the clear cover for the rear license plate. It looks OK though. When the weather gets nicer I want to go out in the garage and look for w piece of screen to try to make the headlight covers. It's the first completely stock model I've ever done. The only thing on it that wasn't in the box is the front end emblem.
  14. It's done. here's a finished picture. I'll post more in the Under Glass section.
  15. Hobbylinc had the AMT 57 Ford kit on discount I picked one up, and a set of gasser wheels and tires to go with it. Maybe.
  16. Getting close now. Body is compounded, the front is almost done and the windshield is in. I was having a tough time with gluing the the windshield in until I remembered I had bought a couple of rolls of of thin double stick tape from Fastcap. That made it easy.
  17. Great work. Somehow you made a butt ugly car look good. Wow!
  18. That's a heck of a nice job.
  19. I been having trouble getting the front of the car lower, and I finally took the front end apart and cut the springs and the king pin down. This is the final stance. I got the taillights on.
  20. Pretty neat.
  21. Thanks. That kit was easy to do as it only had a few mold seams on it. I wet sanded it smooth and the compound took care of the rest. The Charger is my best build in my opinion. I have to look at it because it looks like the system is falling off the car. I hope it's just a reflection in the plastic case.
  22. This is my first attempt at polishing a kit molded in blue. I liked the color so I gave it a try, and it worked out pretty good. I used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound.
