  1. Thanks. I'll take a look at them. I took TROG out of the title.
  2. Great idea. I did something similar a couple of years ago and then forgot about it. I used the boxed paper hand towel to make a bed cover for a pick up I was doing. I like the Taco Bell idea also because I like the Bell. Guess where I'm going to lunch tomorrow. The tires were missing from the kit so thanks to member Modbldr for a trade for them. The got here today and I got them painted just before the rain came down. The interior looks better now.
  3. I was toying with doing that. I think I'll give it a shot on the door first. Thanks.
  4. No problem for me. I've been able to clean it up pretty good, and I'm in the process of spraying a few coats of filler primer on it and sanding it, so it's much better than it was.
  5. That's some beautiful work you've done.
  6. That's a great idea. Anyone know of a source for either decals or material?
  7. I started on this kit. It's the 29 Ford roadster / Ala Cart kit. It's a junkyard kit I won on E-Bay. Both cars need a lot of work but it should be a fun rescue. I included a shot of the interior because it's in rough shape. The first builder used some yellowish thick glue and then put red and white striped cloth over the glue. What a mess.
  8. This one will be delayed for a bit. I need to order some fresh BMF. I tried to do the foiling again but I had problems with the foil. If my hands were steadier I'd try my Molotows pen on it.
  9. Slow going on this one. I started to foil the door, but I messed up and the foil really stuck to the gold trim and my knife nicked the paint . I found some dust specks on the body, sanded them out and sprayed the the body. So then the body was darker then the doors so I had to respray them. The interior is pretty much done, but I still have to touch up the inner door panels. Here is where I am now.
  10. I found these at the Ollies near Harrisburg PA.
  11. I've been pretty lucky. It's always hit or miss there. There's an Ollies close to me but they haven't had many kits lately, although I did find one there last week I wanted. I don't get to Harrisburg often, this is the first time I saw kits there. A big plus was that they were just inside the entrance, so I was grabbing before my wife came back with a cart. I almost ordered the 60 Vette for 28 bucks and shipping a few weeks ago.
  12. A trip to Penn State Hershey near Harrisburg PA paid off pretty nice for me. I found these at the local Ollies.
  13. What a coincidence. I use the same book case for my display, and on my dresser I have exact models of cars I've owned, along with my Fathers flag.
  14. I would suggest going in some firearms forums. The laws vary so much for selling them, and the Smith & Wesson forum and they're always discussing this topic. The also have a for sale section if you wanted to list them there. I'm sure other weapons forums have the same thing. You'll see many different makers offered for sale in the S&W forum, and it also has a wanted to buy section for people looking for a specific rifle or hand gun.
  15. Looks good in that color!
  16. Thanks. The seat color is Testors Bright Blue. The dash and door panels will be left glossy, and the seat were cleared with flat. A little more done, the motor is finished.
  17. I have these. I'll never use them, so if they are close enough you can have a set.
  18. Thanks bisc63. I got a little more done.
  19. I got a junkyard kit with the Ala Cart and 29 Ford roadster on E-Bay. I'm going to try to restore the Ala Cart into a custom pick up, and do a TROG car out of the roadster. It looks like almost all of the parts are there, but I will need the four stock tires for the roadster. I also found a Lindberg 32 in a roadster version I don't have. I know these aren't the best kits around, but I had fun a while back with a pick up version of this kit. I put a 53 Corvette six in it and made a wood bed and a paper towel bed cover. I was happy with the way it worked out.
  20. Thanks Geno. here's a little bit of progress. I like doing the plus wires but using a pin vise to drill the holes is tedious. I need a faster pin vise. Also working on the interior.
  21. I finally felt steady enough to carry this down stairs, so here are the finished pictures.
  22. Welcome from another PA person. I'd love to live that close to Gettysburg.
  23. Sledsel, thanks for the tip. BigTallDad, You got me thinking on the cammer motor so I tried one out. See the pictures. Plus some carb pictures. I'm going with the parts pack carbs because they look ok once I glued them together, and they'll be under an air filter and woun't show much. l
  24. Espo, The carbs in the pictures are resin aftermarket pieces. The carbs on the motor kit are small. I'm still not sure what I will do. I could go with the 1 carb set up with a removable air filter so I can show the carb details, or the 2 carbs that came with the kit along with the ram air air filter. Either way would look good, I think. I raised the back up a little because I've never had much luck lowering the front on a steerable front and still have the wheels steer, but thanks for the suggestion. Yes the distributers are sweet. As soon as I saw them I ordered all of the yellow and blue wires he had in stock.
