  1. I got these nice pre- wired dizzys. No more cut fingers trying to cut the do it yourself boots.
  2. I started this one It will be a slight custom with a lot of go power, The exterior will feature some custom touches, but be mostly stock and the interior will have some nicer than stock seats. The go will come from a Revell parts pack 427 with either one or two 4 barrel carbs and headers. There are some nice extra parts in this kit so other than the 427 I think everything else will be out of the box. I think these Hollys are too big to use two of them so I may go with one. What to you think? I think these distributers are the best I've seen. They come with the plug boots one. Great for me because I can't cut the boots even on the do it yourself ones. I adjusted the stance so the rear end is a bit higher than the front.
  3. I don't know when I might start this one but I will do a build thread on it. The finished kit looks just OK, but the pictures of the frame look pretty good to me. We'll see.
  4. Nice. I love the rag gas cap.
  5. Looks nice to me!
  6. I got some time away from rehab to do some building. I'm not wild about them but I made the headers I had fit better, and the frame is done. I like the look of no windshield.Anyone know of a source for a racing style windshield? I know R&M has a couple kinds for old Fords, and some Corvette kits come with a cut down windshield, but not which ones.
  7. Thanks for the tip. I'm back again from knee surgery, and will be starting on this one again in the next day or two.
  8. Sorry to be slow to post on this. Thanks for all the tips and views on this. I'm recovering from knee replacement surgery and some people seem to think that rehab is more important than building.
  9. I always enjoy Greg's posts. Thanks and keep "em coming.
  10. The wife and I hope to drive some of this next year. It's a bit of a trip for us but a fun one I think.
  11. Thanks. I wanted to finish this before my knee replacement operation tomorrow, but that's on going to happen. I wasn't wild about the detail on the 409 so I played around a couple of other motors, then decided I really wanted the 409 in it. I'm having a hard time finding headers I like to fit the motor or the car, but I'll find something that will work. Here's more pictures.
  12. Thanks. Even with the mistakes I had fun building this one. Plus I learned a few things.
  13. Nice. I do enjoy seeing oddball cars, which includes every Rambler ever made.
  14. I worked for Michaels for ten years, until I retired in 2012. It was a privately owned company for around six of those years, and was then bought be an investment company. If I remember right the company was Bain and Blackstone. This company didn't want to put money into Michaels, only take what they they wanted out of it. I took care of the batteried for all the equipment, and after eight years the fork lift batteries were only running for two hours before going dead. They finally bought new batteries after nine years when I didn't have a charged battery to swap for a dead one and the fork lifts sat dead instead of running. The Michaels in the next town is almost useless. For three months the didn't have a tube of glue on flat black brush paint. I only go there if I'm desperate.
  15. Great. Thanks for the info. I'll have to see what class letters I have.
  16. Thanks. It's painted and foiled now. The chrome around the interior will be done with a Molotow marker. The dash is also done and since I didn't want to use the interior door panels on a drag car I glued the dash to the body. Now I can do the steering wheel and find a good location for the seats.
  17. Two that I've done. The black car is from the Lindberg kit. I came with a bunch of different extra parts that can be used on other builds. The blown blue car used a lot of parts from the trophy hot rod version, some resin parts and a 427 Ford from the Revell parts pack kit.
  18. This one is 1/12, and I didn't see any other large scale kits at my Ollies, but others may have different kits on hand. They had a small restock since I was last there, and it wasn't in the circular this week. I live close enough that I drop in and check once a week or so.
  19. I will do a build thread on it when I start. I am no where near as skilled a builder as as most of you are in the forum, but I am slowly becoming a better builder. I don't work in this scale so I don't have any spare parts to add detail to this one so it will be a box stock job. Thanks for the info on the history of the kit and the heads up as to what I can expect from it. It should prove to be fun to see what I can do with it.
  20. I just posted some open box pictures of the Lindberg Fiat dragster in the kit review section.

  21. I found this kit at Ollie's a few days ago. I posted it in the What Did You Get Today section and a couple of members wanted to see open box pictures, so this is for disabled modeler and unclescott58 and anyone else of course. A quick look at the kit looked pretty good. Not a highly detailed model but the parts look good. It has decals for the gauges, a wired distributor, and black and clear tubing for hoses and different lines. It looks like a fun kit.
  22. Testing the interior and did a little more body work. I may have decided on colors, and may test them tomorrow.
  23. My attemped fix for the body warping didn't do much, so I'm going to build it the way it is. I've been messing with it for a couple of days.
