My daughter gave me that model for Christmas of 2013, and that started me building again. That model was also my first foil job. Yours in a really nice build.
-
I like the year of the car and you did a super job building it.
-
Thanks. This shot is what I will look like, minus the low windshield. I did the body line in gold to contrast with the purple and goldish interior. I now know that purple and gold make yellow.
-
I'm going to order a Hallock windshield and Moon gas tank for it. It looks nice like this and the high kit windshield would ruin the sleek look.

The headers and exhaust from the 37 Chevy kit worked out nice. A little trimming made for an OK fit.

Never knew about this : 87 Mercury Tiffiny.

The Fiero is mine. It's an 84 SE four speed with over 235.000 miles on it. -
Thanks for the tip. You thought the same thing as me on the gas filler when I started doing this kit. I thought the open end was the rear of the bed and the solid end was the front, but it does mount on the left side. I was looking for a Moon tank for the bed by the fill tube, but I only had half of one in my junk parts. I may take one out of the 57 Ford wagon kit I have and look around for another one.

Working on the interior I flocked the floor. I got paint on the body today also.

Thanks. Roadrunner, this isn't a bad kit, and if I had a better selection of spare and resin parts it would have been a much nicer build. One of the biggest flaws was the blower scoops lack of detail.
-
Thanks. Since all of the other pictures of my other street gasser are gone. I may take a couple of pictures of a gasser run off and post them here.

The bed is done. To spice it up a little I cut a wood floor and painted it to match the interior, then I made a tarp cover out of wood and glued a piece of throw away hand towel to give it a canvas look and painted it like the floor. The motor is ready to go in. I started wiring the plugs but it wasn't wasn't working out.

Wow! Super nice work.

Here's the finished pictures. I came as close as I could to the box for the paint. I added wheels from an AMT drag gasser wheel custom pack, a tach to the dash, resin ignition box and a resin B&M shifter to the build. Colors are Testors Fiery Orange and White Lighting. Here's a link to the build thread.

It's done! It took longer than I thought to do the touch ups it needed. I got a dab of glue on the roof and I had to be careful not to mess up the paint. Here's a teaser picture. I'll post more in the Drag Race section. Thanks for looking.

I went a little different way on the bed. I didn't like the bulky look of the upper side of the bed, so I took them off, and cut a wood floor for the bed. I also started the plug wires on the Chevy six.

Some great ideas. I cut the body panels off and found an easy way to drop the front. Is the black body the type you're talking about? Here's a couple of new pictures. The rear is beyond my skills, . Interesting back story about the ageless argument about motors that started almost as soon as cars were invented. Thanks for your post.

Thanks everyone. ESPO, I didn't plan to display the model with the top up so I didn't mess with it. I thought some might like to see a shot of the top up, but thanks for the tip.

I started this kit while I wait to do a couple of touch ups on my 37 Chevy gasser, It will be mostly an out of the box build, but I'm hoping to use the six cylinder motor from the 37 Chevy. So far the fit looks good. I'm also using the front tires from an AMT gasser wheel and tire pack. I also used the wheels from that pack on the 37 Chevy. The color will be purple-licious Testors paint. Anyone know the year of this pick up?
-
I'm just finishing this kit. Yours will look neat when it's done.
-
Today's work. I think it will be done tomorrow. It's suppose to rain all day so I should be able to get her done and then pick my next project' So of the decals that came with the kit ripped apart so I had to change plans a bit. I'm happy with the results. I think the ones I used make it look like a mid- buck race team ran it.
