Another build thread I'll have to follow!

You are doing a GREAT job on this so far! It is really looking good.

Tommy, you know from TMM that I am a life long member of the "roadhawg fan club" . It is because of builds like this. You have talent my friend. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Juan, WIP is work-in-progress. I have both of the kits you are talking about and will someday get to them. I really like the C9s. Good luck on your build!

That is one beautiful truck. What a clean build! -
Thanks for the comments! Yes RatRod, this is the Tamiya kit. Here is a link, (I hope), there are a few in-progress pics. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72705

Thank you guys, I appreciate the comments.

This one was finished up a few years ago. I have always thought that this is one of the prettiest paint schemes out there. I liked the challenge that the decals posed. The kit went together well and the decals behaved quite nicely. Hope you like it.

Last post before I put up pics of the finished model in the "under glass" section. This post will show some of the body work. This was the first time I used Silly Putty for masking. It worked very well. Put it on the outside to keep the black on the inside. Fixing ejector pin marks. Time to start laying down some decals.

I should have mentioned that this is a box stock build. Here is the completed seat and dash. Moving on to the main tub and interior. I think one of my least favorite things to do is masking. I had to do some here. Here is the drivetrain. And starting to put it all together.

This may be a little unusual. I completed this model several years ago but seeing that I am new here I thought I would share some of my builds, both in progress and finished. I personally like seeing the work done by others. Maybe some of the in progress pictures will help others. So here we go..... First up is the kit and the decals. I actually enjoy doing decals. For the most part I have had very good luck with decals. Doing a little work on the seat. I thought it would look better opened up. Sorry about some of the blurry pictures. Here are the kit wheels and tires.

I really like and appreciate you doing the step-by-step shots on this. Looks like you are doing a fantastic job on the decals. Have you thought about clearing them or not? Does the carrier film show very much? I don't really see any in your pics. Keep up the good work Derek!

I'll be watching this one for sure.

Beautiful F1 Spencer! I did not know about this kit MFR. You did a wonderful job on it. The CF looks perfect.

This is just a great model of a very cool subject. You did a very nice job on it Curt. -
Very nice looking model Chris, and yep, looks like you got the stance just right!
-
Absolutely beautiful! I really like the color.

I have enjoyed looking at everyone else's vehicles. Thought I would share mine. It is a 2006 350Z with just over 19,000 miles on it. It is painted Interlagos Fire which is Nissan's "flip-flop" color. The picture was taken in North Dakota. I liked the contrast between the two elements in the photo. Unfortunately the barn no longer exists.

Nice job on a cool subject!

Wow, it looks great. You are doing some very nice work! -
It looks like your question has been answered. Let me add my 2 cents. I use the Xuron PE shears / scissors and the Small Shop's Hold and Fold. Both items are top quality and I whole heartedly recommend them. If you are doing just the occasional one or two pieces of PE and have simple bends you can get by without the PE tools. I have 1:350 USS Missouri and Yamato with tons of PE and these tools will be essential. Although the Hold and Fold is pricey, once you buy it you'll have it for a lifetime.
