  1. IMHO the choice of subjectmatter strongly depends on the demographic group which is interested and actualy buys the bulk of the automotive model kits. But the big issue here is, how does one start to collect such important data, cuz sales only tell part of the story. Maybe the following could work;. include unique single use QR codes on each instruction sheet which in the database is connected to the sku of the kit its included with (to prevent cheating) and this for the whole productline, once found inside the kit by the end-user, he or she can go to a website by scanning the QR code and login by kit sku, then the modelcompany as Round-2, already has info on what product this customer bought and can ask specific questions, age. gender, wishlists of model kits, etc... And when there’s a chance to win (a) kit(s) of your choice, I’m sure more people will be prepared spending the time, in this quest of collecting very useful data. Just my 2 cents. Cheers, Luc
  2. Me too. I only bought the '60 because the kit is open to more options,, it also looks more truck-like than the later model. Do hope, that somewhere down the line Round-2 does a 4x4
  3. It's a neat kit, aside from these chrome headlamps. If Round-2 sees ROI in fixing that, I'm buying.
  4. No promo contracts ---> no kits.... Only exception was the Jo-Han Olds Cutlass...but the beginning of the end of that company was set in motion....
  5. The reason most likely is that this way, they can pop both swept/flareside/fleetside and uteline/sportside/flareside without having to tool up a different chassis.
  6. A pitty, cuz was hoping they would do another run of the bad boyz Corvette decals, Oh well....just shows you have to buy fast cuz you never know if it lasts.
  7. Here is a review on the German Modellversium hobby site, of the newly re-released ex-Monogram 1/12th scale Camaro. Photo courtesy of Modellversium and Frank Richter. https://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=14199
  8. I wonder if, somewhere down the line, the Kats will tool up engine families to be released in parts packs and, from then on, included in full detail kits, which previously were marketed as curbside.
  9. Read that the old race cars will be 1/32nd scale, old Matchbox maybe? From the blog: "A new range of products called the ‘Historic Racer Series’ will include models of historic racing cars, all in 1:32 scale; the Mercedes-Benz SSKL (07737) will be released in February, the Porsche 917 (07738) in March and the Surtees TS16/03 (07739) in April." The 3D rendered images are of all new 1/24th scale kits. From the blog: "07723 1:24 Lamborghini Revuelto, The CAD is complete and tooling is underway, we plan to launch the product in Quarter 3 2025. As you can see from the images below we will have a detailed interior/engine bay. 07827 1:24 Fendt 728 Vario Tractor (easy-click) Design is finished and tooling is now underway!" Cheers Luc
  10. Just saw this posted on the IPMS Germany website.... https://ipmsdeutschland.de/wordpress/2024/11/09/revell-neuigkeiten-aus-telford-teil-2-neuerscheinungen-januar-bis-april-2025/ https://blog.revell.de/2024/modellbau/telford-2025-neuvorstellungen-new-product-lineup-reveal/ Photo's courtesy of IPMS and Revell Germany
  11. Chrome-loaded trucks seem to sell, but not so chrome-loaded trucks seem to perform much less. That's what the story seems to be with the two Moebius kits. So think that the model companies are a bit gunshy. That said, beauty indeed and would welcome a model of it.
  12. This is posted on the Revell US Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/share/RWD82xf9w5THsyqh/
  13. If only I could buy these in bulk, hint, hint
  14. Ready for pre-order....in Europe that is. https://revell.de/en/shop/product/077259090-stranger-things-argyle-s-vwt3-surfer-boy-pizza-v
  15. Wonder where their tooling is done, in-house or nearby vendor? Same for Heller.
  16. The guy I bought both my Galaxie kits from built the chassis to incorporate wire axles, including drilling a hole thru the engine. luckily there was no follow-up in further assy these kits, so the rest is mint. I'm wondering if the whole front axle set-up is in the newly released '69 kit.
  17. Indeed, for a decade or so at GM Continental, I did line balancing, and the more options the harder it gets to balance the line jobs without messing with the scheduling/sequence of the to-be-build cars.
  18. Yep, they think in cents per unit. But sometimes odd decisions are made. Remember way back in the'90s at Opel/GM power windows were cheaper to produce than manual roll-up/down units, yet marketing insisted on having the option to have manual units, too.
  19. Guys, just the fact that he gets even pre-production kits from Revell, Moebius, Round2, and a few other manufacturers should tell you all that they back him. It again points out who is the biggest buying, building, and enjoying group of modelers, and without their buying power, the hobby we all love will suffer greatly. Just my 2 cents.
  20. This one next? https://ford.shorthandstories.com/2025-ford-bronco-stroppe-special-edition/?fbclid=IwY2xjawF7oYtleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHZZpFMd3QIr_b2hGt-B9IgkZdaFgmAGFldUnPLK3IQ_gRoe3WwS8Qhd-PA_aem_I062sVLLOmSOS6SHeM0ZpA Bronco
  21. Always like the design, which I got to know thru the TV series Jake and the Fatman, cuz I think I never seen the Lincoln in the flesh, at least in my neck of the woods. Anyway...I was happy to obtain a copy of this kit, through a US friend.
  22. Hope the '72 Demon, IMHO styling wise a bit better, performance-wise I dunno, what can I say I vote with my eyes
