  1. Hpiguys built a copy...
  2. Could mean anything, ranging from abandoning the project to starting from scratch. It's not like they (Steve and the other Kats) don't have enough on their plate already. But what does worry me, is the rising cost of Chinese made American model kits...they're hovering near 50 Euro's (57 in Micky Mouse money) and rising in my neck of the woods. But I digress... Cheers.
  3. HPI guy is building the Barracuda, can't wait 'till he uploads the video.
  4. Also opens the door for more trim levels, when doing badges separately. IIRC Archer had or has a range of 3d decals for railroad or military modelers, IMHO an interesting path to look into.
  5. Hmm, would also be nice behind a certain Peterbilt truck 😉. How's that DVD thingy working Ragtop Man?
  6. It all boils down to buying power, who buys plastic model kits of automotive subject matter. Sort the customers by age, preference and expected lifespan 😉
  7. Wonder if this trailer is period correct, cuz it kinda looks so. If the Kat's at Round2 can make it happen before the holidays of '26 this would be a neat combo to put under the Christmas tree. But do like the dump truck Scott showed here, IMHO also a great possible sibling for Round2 to look into 😉 Cheers!
  8. A pitty tho, a kit of a Mk1 Capri would be nice. Cheers
  9. Pure speculation on my part, but if DModels and Decalcas are one and the same company, then maybe the IXO diecast model it would be based on, needs too many changes to scale up to 1/24th scale, Also unlike the Sierra there are no OEM CAD files to fall back on. Again pure speculation...
  10. It all boils down to buying power, who buys plastic model kits of automotive subject matter. Sort the customers by age, preference and expected lifespan. If subject matter here discussed seems to fit into high sales potential and longevity I'm sure they will look into it. Personally I think of this forum as a think tank, throwing ideas around, which for me is as much fun as breaking the seal on a new kit. My 2 cents Cheers.
  11. I feel your pain, Tim. But it's not our money on the line, so I understand ( up to a point) why (some) model kit manufacturers take this route. Cheers Luc
  12. No, only other kit I know of is the Otaki one. They did one in 1/24th scale, motorized as per Japanese standard back then and also one in 1/12th. Added info: Seems LS had one in 1/20th scale too, but never saw that one in person.
  13. Christian is making a cultural joke here. As the French always say "À l'aise" cuz the further south you go the less stress...so Q4 can easily morph into Q1 😉 Tho Germans while Pünktlich do have a somewhat similar saying, "Immer mit der ruhe" And this concludes todays language/cultural lesson, Ha! Now back to the regular program.
  14. Fusionfirm liquid silver to the rescue then I suppose. BTW Barbatos Rex has a video which is still in the pipeline, of a clear coat that won't hurt chrome paints when coated by this product, which would be awesome when applying a wash or other detailing.
  15. Dunno, is the shot shown a production shot?
  16. Looking forward to that one too. Oh where are the days of the Hot Hatches...there wasn't a weekend that went by without one ending up wrapped around a tree. BTW, Glad they didn't do the doors in clear plastic.
  17. Ah ok, no problem. I can't be right all the time 🤣 🤪
  18. As I said before the 06-13 gen Mustang was North American only, but this one is sold thru the regular Ford distribution network in Europe too. I think I remember Belgium per catipa being a leader in Mustang sales. The only American ICE cars, on our roads, the others being trucks with the Dodge Ram as leaders, but that market is drying up as a result of a fiscal reform. Yeah, you can be right, but it all depends on tool design, opening/closing gates, modular in design or not. Cheers!
  19. Wonder if the hood of the Mustang has underhood detail. If so, more could be hiding in that tool.
  20. A new model kit of North American subjectmatter by a foreign kitmaker for instance, wouldn't make any sense, due to imposed and variable tarrifs. I guess the Japanese industry rather wants to play save, plus their domestic market is also their primary market, the rest is just extra gravy. Anyway, I'm happy with the announcement of the BMW. Cheers.
