  1. Don't have this re-release, as it's not in regular distribution by Revell in Europe. So can't comment on this....maybe by checking out HPIguys youtube clip build of this kit, your question can be answered.
  2. Sometimes in parts breakdown in general, not enough thought was given, into how to detail paint. Like molded-in everything in the front facia of a car, where separate grilles would make it so much easier to paint. IMHO, if you wish to make model building a pleasant experience, try to eliminate things that can cause frustration. Just my 2 cents 😉
  3. There is some misconception here. Fewer parts don't necessarily mean a lot less detail. while lots of parts mean more. It's all about how you engineer a kit. One example; in some 90s designed kits, you have a two-piece dashboard assembly, to be able to have the upper heating/cooling/ventilation vent engraving. Now it's one piece, yet has the detail too. Form follows function. Cheers
  4. Oops yes, the '69. But they all come with these turbine wheels?
  5. Wasn't this kit also released under Amt's selected vintage subjects program? Seem to recall it had some great turbine wheels included.
  6. Isn't Round2 via their mpc brand re-releasing the '72 Mercury Montego stock car racer? Thought I've seen this passing in my FB feed.
  7. Decal sheet has been expanded and now includes the optional C-striping.
  8. What I find odd on this original mpc kit, is that the headlamps are separate chrome inserts that one mounts into the grille. Of course it's easy to replace those with chrome lenses if one wishes to do so. It's just odd.

  10. A shortbed with the round headlamps would be nice.
  11. From the Revell website: The detailed replica of the McLaren MP4-25 brings the excitement of the 2010 Formula 1 season directly to your desk. With this scale 1:24 scale model kit, you can create an authentic replica of the race car that Lewis Hamilton used to achieve three unforgettable Grand Prix victories. https://revell.de/en/shop/product/070969090-vodafone-mclaren-mercedes-mp4-25-l-hamilton
  12. From the Revell Germany website: "The American model building dream" https://revell.de/en/shop/product/145819090-78-chevy-4x4-pickup-malibu-gp-virage-and-trailer
  13. BTW speaking of chrome I was watching this YouTube video from Barbatos Rex a month or so ago....
  14. The Stranger Things Blazer, does have chrome parts, like the bumpers and mirrors. The grille isn't plated because the grille isn't chrome on the real vehicle.
  15. Panic! BTW my youngest brother and I had something similar, dunno why but, we were on an off ramp and my brother couldn't brake, so I pulled the handbrake ( emergency brake you call it in the US, no?) and so avoided a collision with cars in front of us who stopped at the traffic light.
  16. An incentive maybe to buy Revell Chrom Spray?! 🤣😇🤪
  17. I have both the Amt and Revell kits, one thing which is odd on the amt kit is how the did the chrome headlamp buckets, that said their execution of the taillamps IMHO is better than Revell's. Cheers Luc
  18. It's an North American boxing, which for some reason (tarrifs maybe) ended up in Europe first.
  19. What's in the box... Photo's courtesy of Frank Richter and Modellversium. More info via link below: https://modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=14326
  20. Got this grand idea for a new model kit combo. Success guaranteed just kidding!!!!! 🤣 Cheers Luc
  21. Just adding my wacky train of thoughts... 😉 Also to the lower production numbers model companies today, more so than in the past, can only make a good return on investment when incorporating from the get go several alternative versions into the overall project they're going to release over a certain period of time. Which means clever modular tool design. Even with cloning with improvement the past, one sees that being implemented, even when those initially were slimmer in parts content, by design, or by omitting certain components like a drive-train in the revamp. The latter maybe can be seen in view that the industry could be preparing itself for the next step in the world of modeling, like offering certain ( due to the limitations of injection molding) difficult to tool-up without compromising detail, parts/sub-assemblies via a online 3D print platform of their own, or a joint venture between distributors or chooses outlets where modelers can buy these 3D printed items from, who knows? IMHO interesting times ahead, so sit back and enjoy! Cheers Luc.
