  1. It seems to work for Round2, all the scanned parts were designed to eject out off the tooling, thus easier to rework than start from scratch. Anyway, I would love to sit down with Steve Goldman at his desk at Round2, discuss and share ideas on what all is possible with showing examples. Maybe someday!
  2. An old friend, one of the original Kats once said the following to me; "the human mind is like a parachute- it really only works when it's open" I try to follow his motto, and dispense ideas, possibilities....
  3. They are two different boxings, one for the European market, the other for the North American, albeit having decals for Japan and Down under.
  4. Cloning is new tooling, for instance, or argument's sake, one takes the original annual kits of the Jo-Han '69 and '70 Plymouth GTX/Roadrunner. Now you can copy and improve both kits and create tooling where both or more versions can be ejected from. IMHO it doesn't stop there, cuz one doesn't need to clone all the parts that came in these original kits, just look what Ertl did the old-fashioned way back in the '90s, combining two sets of tooling from two different kits to re-create the '70 Dodge Coronet. Now one can mix and match parts from other kits, clone and adapt, or design all new to incorporate in all-new tooling. It's like kit bashing but in the design phase. Comments welcome.
  5. Even when winning the lottery, I do wish to stay in business and not crash and burn after a few great kits, which everyone had to have, but in the end, only a few hundred ended up buying So my hat off to everyone in the business trying to keep the momentum going.... Cheers
  6. Cool! you get license plates for Australia and Japan too!
  7. Incredible isn't it, that in a decade or so, we went from; Oh no, the tooling is lost or can't be run! To just clone a mint kit! If the ROI is there, the sky is the limit! ?
  8. Revell is also a worldwide company and handles their distribution accordingly, while Round-2 is oriented toward the North American market only, and 3rd parties deal with their distribution towards foreign countries. I'm wondering if an old alliance can be restored, meaning Round2 reaching out to Glow2B, so they can handle the distribution in Europe for their products and get them from the country of production. In contrast, Round2 Corp can handle the distribution of Heller products in NA, that way maybe prices can be adjusted towards those of the competition. Just thinking out loud, no more no less. opinions are always welcome!
  9. Interesting how this tread is developing ? What is it, which makes a kit desirable? subject matter, execution, fun factor, kitbash, nostalgia, Tinseltown magic....hmmm
  10. Interesting. Based on customer feedback, do you have some idea why this is? Curious.
  11. Hi all, Anyone here who knows of a source where these decals, NOS or so, still can be found? Thanks in advance.
  12. At least two of each, to have a CHP and an NYPD unit, two agencies Tinseltown promoted through the ages, at least for people outside the USA So was very glad Round-2 did both their Dodge's as CHP cruisers, now I'm hoping they find plenty of sales when discussing adding a Fury version to their Monaco kit to release as an NYPD patrol car.
  13. Wonder what happened to the tooling of the tuner wheels, cuz IMHO they're great to put under the '80s econoboxes amt and mpc released in the early '80s, heck even tried a set on an amt Opel GT and looks just right!
  14. Then it's better to start from scratch, but don't think that this is in the stars. IMHO when tooling up an all new vintage police car one is better off with a series of late '60s to mid '70 Chrysler C-Bodies. Cuz if I'm correct (if not please say so) much of the under body components can be used for this gen.
  15. Monaco to Fury conversion, what would it take? - New front cavity of the body tooling and tooling up a new grille. Plymouth lettering on the trunklid. Which one has to sand off when doing a Dodge, or decals? Or reworking the body tooling so that a separate front clip is needed, that way the earlier round headlamp versions are possible too. Tho I have all the parts to make the change myself, it still would be nice if Round-2 could make it happen.
  16. There are people in the industry who watch the board, so not all is lost ?
  17. This I like very much on the '71, it makes detail painting so much easier! If Round-2 ever considers doing the '71 again, please do it that way and include clear headlamps thanks for the write-up, Chris!
  18. If only to kit bash it with the Mpc Chevy Cavalier
  19. Just Googled it and it seems that there was also a Color Me Gone version, or at least a tribute cars which was at B&J auctions. Also for those in the know, will both grilles be included in the kits? Thanks
  20. Those little things that make the day just that bit brighter. A '65 GTO Grrrrrrrr, didn't spot the tiger, it was probably hiding in the tank ?
  21. This popped up in my facebook feed. Why ‘pointless’ hobbies like Lego and model railways can help prevent dementia (msn.com)
  22. Hi all Available end of September...
  23. Hi all, The wait is over.....
  24. Wow for a 40 year old model it still looks great Tim, nice carpet too!
  25. Hello gents, Is an engine an absolute must when buying a newly tooled kit of American automotive subject matter or is curbside fine too, or does your preference also depend on the type of vehicle and or retail price. Please elaborate on your preference. Thanks in advance! Luc
