  1. thanks for the kind comments, it was an enjoyable build and it was a build of firsts...first time using the salt chipping technique, tissue paper interior, steel wool and vinegar solution on wood and my first time using an air brush.wow!!! what a difference using an air brush makes.
  2. been awhile since i have posted any of my work ...here is a rebuild of a kit that sat unfinished in the closet for well over a year. decided to try my hand at weathering very much would like to thank Dr cranky for putting out some superb videos on doing many of the weathering techniques ..thanks for looking,
  3. it won't be bad...i have a real problem w/needles...i have had teeth filled w/out anything for fear of needles...they will most likely use numbing agent on your gums before using the needle...since they have started doing this my visists to the dentist have been much better...once they numb the nerve of the affected tooth they will drill out the decay put a clamp around the tooth and fill it...half hour and your good as new...promise yourself a new modle or a niffy tool for the workbench after its over.
  4. BIG CONGRATS....you look very proud and you should be. it's a huge step getting your own set of wheels.thats a sweet ride!!!!

  13. 1) Was your introduction to modeling at home?yes 2) From whom?...not sure ,i just can't remember if anyone intoduced me to modling or i just picked it up 3) What kind of models (cars, planes, trains, etc)?i remember building those monster kits ,the wolman.mummy, king kong ,creature from the black lagoon ...cars..the red baron, cicus wagon, a few others 4) What did the person who introduced you to modeling do for a living ? 5) How old were you? 8 or 10 6) About what year was your introduction? 68/70 my dad did not build modles ,neither did either of my brothers. I remember building them in the basement as a kid. can't recall why i started. i would display them on my dresser when i finshed them.wonder what happen to them?
  14. I scrapped my last build and started a new project. scribed the panel lines, sanded ,primed, sanded, color coat, sanded and added another color coat, i used testors laquer. closer shot of the paint.i think it came out looking pretty good closeup of the BMF i added and i started the engine I'm really taking my time on this one. after the last diaster i'm determined to have this one come out looking as good as my limited talent can make it.
  15. i am just so blown away by this...truly amazing work
  16. outstanding if you ask me!!!!
  17. put a coat of testors blazing black lacquer on my next build ,a 57Chrysyler 300 C and painted the engine. cleaned the bathroom while is waited for the lacquer to dry

  20. thanks...now i want to try this
  21. very nice.thanks for the tips, question are you using regular pastel chalks?
  22. the nail tape showed up ...applied it to the bed of the 56 pickup i'm working on...i still need to trim it and finish the rest .it's very thin and static makes it want to cling rather than stick.i used a toothpick to press it into the bed.i still need to trim it and finish .doesn't look bad. i did get 22 different colors ,which surprised me. i was told i may get 22 rolls but only of a few colors.not sure how well it would work for pin stripes but for the price it would be worth a try.
  23. thanks.can't say this is easy, getting it around the wipers was very difficult..as soon as i get a chance i'll post a few more photos of the rest of the build
  24. PHEEEWWW....took me an hour and a half to apply BMF around the windshield and do the wipers..i'll add a more photos later...i need a coffee and a little break. used nail tape for the bed.painted the bed brown.was going to try and make a real wooden bed but wanted to see how this nail tape i picked up would work for spacers
  25. thanks. i appreciate it
