1968 Dodge Charger R/T "Hemified" Drag car build **FINISHED**
JasonC replied to jrherald420's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nice, i like the color. But one suggestion would be. Under the back seat, it should be primer/sealer and over spray of body color That is if you're going for a factory look.. And a question on the embossing powder? I guess you got it at a craft store? And how did you aplly it to the floor? And does this kit come with the red line tires? After seeing a few threads on this model i kind of want to pick one up now lol. -
That is just to COOL!

Mine didn't crack it was more like a fisheye situation. And on the floor pans underneath of the car you can see where the clear thinned the base coat on some of the details that stick up.

The firewall really should be body color. And i'm with the other guy on the distributor, it looks odd with the wires ran like that and the distributor just up there in the open. But it's just a model, so carry on!- 125 replies

I wish you luck! And thanks everyone. I will say that what it was doing with me was when i sprayed the clear (Rustoleum) it acted like it would thin the base coat on parts of the car. I had to respray and lightly coat the clear then. Now i used Testers Dull coat for the int and it worked fine! Maybe it was the clear i was using?

Thanks, i was thinking i made a mistake with this paint at first, but some how it turned out! It is Krylon Satin.
-
Thanks guys! I do love the color also. If i had one in real life, this is the color it would be! And yes its Krylon spray paint. Satin infact, with a rustoleum clear.
-
The paint went on thick, but oh well. Its Krylon Pistachio. Just box stock with a set of plug wires and BMF. Enjoy!

Nice outcome! But a 71 Dart has 4 lights in the rear bumper, not 2

Almost there, need to finish a few things

Where do you plan on getting R/T emblems for the 1/4's? Edit: nevermind, i misread your post.
-
Very interesting! Will be different to see a Nova without a V8 in it. Leaving it a 6cyl to would of been cool also.
-
Was waiting in the distributor to come but isn't here yet. So i tried agian with one i wired up. I found beading wire at walmart. This is my first time going detailed like this on a small scale model. I've done it to a 1.8th scale before. But this was a challenge for me being this small. I'm not happy with the rad hose, and will probably redo it.

Mopar "pie pan" aircleaner decals?
JasonC replied to JasonC's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Mmmmn, they look kind of blurry? -
Couldn't resist setting the body on the chassis to see what it would look like. Crappy picture, but oh well. Think it may look good once done.
-
Does anyone sell these for 1.24/1.25 scale? I'm in need of the Plymouths 440 Super Commando
-
Wasn't expecting this. Just like in real life, I'd have to say NO. But since its a model, no need to get my panties in a bunch. Edit: I see wheels where changed. A lot better lol

Sweet! My kind of builds. Will be checking on this for updates.

WIP, 67 Coronet & 68 Dart. (1970's street racer cars)
JasonC replied to JasonC's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I got shackles on the Coronet. But think i'll put some blocks on the front of the springs to get it up some more. And block up the Darts also. Cause they do need to come up in the rear more. -

I had these kits for a good while. The Dart i painted when the kit was issued. So that was a good while back! And the Coronet i had laying around since it's release and just painted it last night. I want these cars to look like something that was prowling the streets in the 70's. The dart will have a green int and big block. The Coronet has matching int with a hemi most likely. These will be slow builds, but excited to get them done.
