Although this big wheel on old car thing has been around for the past 10+ years. I been wishing it would die off after awhile. Although it has slowed down in the past few years. I cancelled my Car Craft subscription cause of all the big wheel rides they where putting in it. Granted this was many years ago. Also with this "stance" stuff that's around now. But like most trends, they come and go.

I'm going to do this one up as a street/strip car. But with a little older oldschool looks. I'm not going to use a hood, the tunnel ram, carbs, valvecovers are from the AMT 66 Nova kit. The wheels i think i may keep the stock ralleys up front and Centerlines in the rear. The Centerlines are from a 71 Cuda kit i think. The Color is Rustoleum Dark Bronze. The int i used Krylon saddle tan and tan flocking. Under the rear seat area i just primed it and misted it with body color. The tach, uderdash gauges and fire extinguisher are from a MPC 69 Mach1 Mustang kit. I'm going on vacation this week so no progress on it but did want to start a thread. Questions, comments, and advice are all welcome. mocking it up

Wonder if the 1/12 Camaro will come with anything other then the Foose stuff. Cause i'm not a fan of anything Foose...

Thank you for all the comments! Didn't expect that!

Finished this one up today. I took and changed the ol' 305TPI out for a 350LT1 from some Ed Roth kit i had years ago. The detail for the engine bay on this model is something to be desired with everything molded in. The color is GM Dark Cherry met from Duplicolor. It's pretty much box stock but the engine/trans, and flocking and i made the exhaust. I forgot to take a picture of the underside when i had it out. So i just have one when i was working on it. Most of the pictures are cell phone, so quality may not be up there...

It Duplicolor And it's a Ford color. I lost the cap, but numbers on the bottom of can are, EBFM03820

Like them both, but the Merc is oh so smooth!!!
-
Thanks guys! And look like i'll be getting a pie pan and shocks for it soon!
-
John Parsons? I know a John Parsons from Keyser, WV lol. But anyways, your build looks clean.

I finished up this kit the other day, it's a AMT kit i used Dupli Color paint and Rustoleum clear. I wanted it to look stock as can be and this is the first time i went detailed on an engine bay like this. It is missing the rear shocks, cause i broke one taking it off the tree. And also is missing the 440 Super Commando pie pan for the air cleaner. And if one was to nit pick you can find other odds and ends lol . But here it is, questions and comments welcome. Positive or negative!!! I do got other threads with a 68 Dart, 67 Coronet and 64 Dodge that i need to finish. But i'm working steadily on a 91 Firebird Formula now with an LT1 swap.

Thanks. And since i'm pretty new here. Do i make a thread in the Underglass section? Although i'm thinking this maybe fine.

I haven't seen many painted top cars from Mopar, seen a few Darts. But what are you going to use for chrome trim to separate the black painted top from the plum crazy body?
-
Thats cause for us these are compact cars. But like the Smart car and other thing you posted, they would be considered a subcompact.
-
Nice color and great choice of wheels!
-
It's finished. Well mostly, i broke one of the shocks for the rear and couldn't find any to replace them so they just won't be on there. And couldn't find an acceptable pie pan for the aircleaner. And forgot the rearview mirror lol. Over all i'm happy with the outcome of it. Sure it could be better, but for the quality of the kit and my first time going into detail like that under the hood, it don't look so bad. But here it is.

Revell S.E 1/25 1968 Dodge Charger R/T (Hemified).

The build is a nice clean build. And i see someone one here finally put black in the Keystones! But i do got to echo others that this is a drag car. In real life for the suspension it would of had a leaf spring setup with an extra leaf in one side and a pinion snubber. Nothing like that four link setup that you posted, that would be a little more modern then the era of what this model reflects. And a level 2 race mod? Playstations Gran Turismo terms really shouldn't be carried out into day to day conversation. For the exhaust, yes open headers!!! That is correct for a drag car. Some would run exhaust if the track had a decibel level. Or if it was their street car also. But even then it wouldn't be a full exhaust. It would be a set of header mufflers attached to the headers or a set of mufflers that dump off before the rear end. That way if they wanted to remove the exhaust for open headers, it would be easy to do. And for the Nascars that you posted, they to have little exhaust. Basically they had a pipe that ran under the car and exited somewhere before the rear tires. I don't see anyone getting bent out of shape like you say, all i've seen is people offering up advice to make your model look a little better and some facts about cars. Like me with the firewall, It's part of the body, It should be painted body color, not black like GM or Ford did.- 125 replies

Look up what a Keystone Klassic looks like. It's not that flashy cause there are black ascents in the spokes and around the lugs. Edit: Add image. -

Looks great. But may I suggest putting the black in the keystones also. -
Typically this is done with 4 door cars. But I'd like to see the outcome of this!

Your cell phone pictures are better then most peoples regular camera pictures! Oh yeah, did the kit come with red line tires like shown on the box? -
I'd kind of like to see aftermarket 72 parts to convert this kit over. I had a Top Banana yellow 72 Demon 340 that i'd kind of like to make a model of.

I was wondering that also, but if you look the distributor is in the wrong spot for the Hemi. Thats kind of impossible to do... You have to bore it .008 over to get 427. But anyways, i do love the looks of this car and its sparkly paint!
