Nice build from coming out of retirement. But one thing, the engine bay on those cars are supposed to be body color.
-
I think you're looking for Superbird and not Challenger.

He's probably just talking about these.... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-35-580604/overview/

This is a nice kit, my body was warped a little. What color interior you going to do?
-
The t tops I taped the glass and painted the trim flat black, then on the underside, I taped it off and sprayed the edges flat black. Then unmasked the t tops and misted some flat black on them.

Thanks, it does shine lol. And Google STS Turbo, they seem to work very well for where they are located.

I like this shot I took,

This is an AMT kit, Formula and Trans AM mixed. I wanted a Formula body with a Trans Am spoiler like the 96-97 Firehawks had. Kept it an LT1 cause personally I like the LT1. The turbo is made of solder, crimp connectors, rubber O ring, metal washer and heat shrink. Pontiac blue met on the engine, DupliColor black with krylon clear for the body, Krylon primer with flocking for the int. The wheels are off of a Nissan R32 Skyline, they stick out a little too much, but nothing I can do about that. The rear bumper was a Trans Am bumper that I filled and shaved to kind of look like a Formula bumper, also removed the side skirts. The hood is part of the center off of a Revell 99 Silverado custom pickup hood. I do need to put the upper rad hose on, and one rear shock. Don't know where it went to...

You should build a cop car pulling it over with a driver behind the wheel sweating to death lol! -

Very cool. But you got the model year wrong. It's a 1993, not a 1985. -
I have got this done, will make thread in Under glass tomorrow probably, but here are two pictures of it...
-
Sweet!!! But do they make drivers for these?

I fall into the group who been doing models for a while but i'm not part of a club. I just recently joined here, cause I never thought of looking for a model car forum lol. I'm part of 1:1 car forums and mainly stay on one. But browse a few others. What I have noticed on here is that there are a good many thin skinned people. But there is also a great wealth of knowledge on here too. -
Yes the trim on the front edge like in the picture of post #16 And on Mopars, only thing under the hood that should be black is the front of the core support so you don't see the body color through the grill. Although the guy below didn't do it. but is a example of an A-body engine bay
-
Looks nice! But I have two suggestions. BMF on the trim of the hood scoops and it looks like the engine bay maybe black? It should be body color since you was going for a factory look it seems.
-
Thank you once again. I will try some BMF for the clamps, and as for the color, I was browsing around the other day and seen a color close to this for 69.
-
I seen guys put hose clamps on these. What are they using? Or are they just painting them on?

How about headlights off of a 39 Chevrolet kit?

I can see your arguments about growing up around them and "thinking" they are cool. But out of the countless car shows and meets I've gone to, they're very rarely any restored 4 door cars there. Street Rods, yes there are some. Then you get into the 50's and up cars. It's usually a beat to hell 4 door that someone thinks is a prize or a old original grandma car that has been unmolested. But then again, they are far few and between. It's the popular 2 doors that everyone is flocking around. Not the family/grandparents 4 door car. I've heard from may guys in there late 50's and well into their 60's saying how taboo 4 doors where when growing up and in the car culture of "the day". They are just a family car... It is true that that they are on the cheaper end of the scale, cause they are not that desirable and people who want an older car will go after them. Cause that's all they can afford. Does that turn it into cool cause they are cheaper and more undesirable? I've noticed on here and some other forums what I call "The politically correct car movement". Where no matter what one drives and how they mod it they are accepted as a car enthusiast. And everyone should be happy and skip through a field of flowers. I'm sorry, but I refuse to be part of a group that goes to Walmart and puts on cheap sticky chrome vents and calls themselves a car guy. That is just a basic example of one.
-
For the most part, 4 door cars are best for parts cars. Just cause they are old, don't mean they are cool. Cause in the end, it's still a four door.
-
Thanks for all the compliments! But is there anything that nobody likes or would change?
