  1. I just find it funny they call it the DAYZ... for those of you not "in the know" DayZ is a wildly popular game mod which turns Arma2 into a zombie "simulation".
  2. I guess I was brought up differently. I feel that no matter what kind of car it is, if someone is willing to put time and effort into modding it / restoring it, it's deserving of respect. You don't have to LIKE it, but there's no reason to cut someone down for their taste or for buying and working on what they can afford. Having a cool car isn't about making YOU like my car, it's about me going out and enjoying it, be it at a car show or a race track or just cruising around town. If you're building a car to make others like it, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
  3. I like my 4-door Belvedere. Granted it's not as "cool" or desirable as a 2-door- but it also was nowhere near the price. Chassis is the same, engine is the same, body lines are the same for the most part (has a taller roof line, and of course, the extra doors). 4-doors are great cruiser cars. Pile people in and go for a cruise up and down the strip, or to the car show, or the drive-in. And when the day comes that I have a young'n... it'll be a lot easier putting a car seat in the back of my 4-door Belvedere than a 2-door. A big boat Buick like that? Flat black paint with some pinstripes, lakes pipes, red steelies with wide whites... who cares how manty doors it has? It's cool.
  4. That looks cool!
  5. Sounds like a pyramid scheme... hmm
  6. Back when I was an avid street racer (yeah yeah I know) there was a guy with a very non-suspect red Camaro. It looked completely stock from the outside. Stock wheels and tires even. He had some goofy spoiler on it but that was it. Not even an exhaust note to give you a hint. He was spraying something like a 250 shot through it. Launched soft, then suddenly took off like a rocket.
  7. I still use them. I don't have the space to dedicate to my hobby (my "workbench" is also my computer desk) anndI REALLY don't have anywhere to set up a compressor...
  8. I remember this kit from a long time ago. Yours looks a lot better than mine did back then! LOVE the paint scheme.
  9. Cool looking truck. As for the floor pan I noticed the same on my '55 Stepside, so I added a piece of thin Evergreen sheet, as others mentioned.
  10. Clean build. Color looks good on the car.
  11. Tamiya typically does do a great job with fitment. I'm surprised you even had those issues. The engine looks nice.
  12. That is a cool idea. The color on that boy is SHARP.
  13. Very pretty. Well built model of a cool little car.
  14. Looking forward to the Under Glas thread, that is a cool little car, and well built
  15. WILD isn't even a word strong enough. That intake setup is INSANE!
  16. Wild concept
  17. Looks like it fit together like a glove. Great looking model. I would go a little easier on the panel lines next time however.
  18. Is the "inspiration" photo real or a model? I really can't tell.
  19. That paint looks incredible
  20. Yes My father Model cars He does mechanical maintenence for industrial machines I was 4-5, we built a 1970 Plymouth GTX together and then I built a 1970 Challenger by myself About 1987 or so
  21. I think you nailed exactly how people are building them now 1:1. The wheels, stance, and paint look dead on.
  22. I just use ebay to beef up my stash without spending a ton of money. I recently bought 6 kits off ebay (nothing rare) and spent only about $80 including shipping. I typically try and bid less than $7 on kits from there. Now if I was looking for a specific kit (for instance my 1st-gen RX7 kit that I will be looking for at some point) then I'll pay to play.
  23. That looks like one nice old-school ride!
  24. That dashboard looks really good- was the radio a decal?
  25. That's a really cool concept and well executed
