  1. We just rechecked everything and the coils are good. So plugs and coils are good. It doesn't sound like its skipping. Havent been able to test drive it to see if its shifting bad still, but the tach is still wacky.
  2. My aunts truck has been acting up lately according to her. I test drove it and the tach would not read accurately, and the transmission would not shift properly. I hooked in to the OBD2 and It was throwing a skip code. According to the device cylinder 7 wss not firing. I checked the plug amd it was shot, as were the other 7. I replaced all plugs and changed the transmission fluid. The tach still does not read properly and the tranny does not shift properly. Has any one experienced this problem? I've tested all the logical failure points, and fixed them... a bit lost for ideas here...
  3. That's an intersting way to do it. I revised mine to say that after 90 days the item would be sold. But I'm liking that $25 per day thing. That should dissuade anyone from any schenanigans.
  4. the kit wheels stuck out even worse! That's why I put the aftermarkets on. You could always just section the axle. Thank you! Its a one coat lacquer....fiery orange I believe. No clear coat.
  5. Haha! No it comes in a powder form. I've been doing some research and have been experimenting with using only Distilled water, urea, ammonia, and neocryl. the water provides the carrier system or base, however you like to say it. The urea creates the crystalline effect ( still figuring out why it does) and the ammonia causes the evaporation, which sets of the urea, thus creating the crystalline structures on your item. Neocryl is used like a wetting agent....to prevent the mix from simply beading up like water does. Ive attempted using dish soap, as it contains neocryl where its used partly as a thickening agent. Now its simply a matter of getting the ratios down.
  6. I have actually been experimenting with making my own the main ingredients are urea, alcohol and water..... its just a matter of getting the right mix...
  7. Ill make sure to add that in.thanks for the heads up.
  8. Unbeknownst to me until today, One of my teachers is a part time attorney, and he helped me fill it out a little bit. He also said he would help me out if I needed anything.
  9. Would you say it would be feasible, that with a decent lawyer, you would be able to have the customer, who created the problem be forced to pay for all legal bills? I suppose it could be argued both ways, "well we would not have had to go to court if you had just payed the bill" and " well we wouldnt have had to go to court if you had just worked for free".... Thats when Being part of a large Italian family with connections to other large Italian familes comes in handy..
  10. The body shop I had an apprenticeship for a while, had me working on a 2011 top of the line Ski-doo.. roughly 15 grand, and 6 grand worth of powdercoating, paint, and vinyls I was helping do.... He didnt pay, so the bossman told me, take it for a joy ride, and bash it up some..... Well this was in July . grass, dirt, and asphalt dont treat snowmobiles to kindly.
  11. hmm...So in essence A contract is utterly worthless? I thought it was a legal way to cover your rear.. I know Im not going to get anything out of this customer, but I was hoping it would provide some "encouragement" to future customers, If you know what I mean.
  12. I was tempted to do that, but after all the time I put into it, that would break my heart! The worst part is I didnt take pictures to prove I did anything. Im pretty much having to bite the bullet on this one....... not exactly the kind of advice I was looking for, but it made me laugh pretty hard, and for that I thank you!
  13. IMO the new f150 was absolutley hidieous to me when I first looked at it.... But its growing on me.. the cab style looks similair to a dodge, and the front end to me, SCREAMS tundra. but the grill has the large tall opening like the ram trucks do. If you look closely you can see the design cues. on the topic of the aluminum.... It wont rust, so you wont need to weld in patch panels so the bodyshop guys shouldnt be too bad off... but dent removal may be difficult because if Im correct, aluminum expands and stretches when it is bent.. It should be interesting to see some strength tests I'm sure someone will do...
  14. I do custom painting/airbrushing on gaming consoles and equipment, and bikes, for some side money. I recently had a problem with a customer who refused to pay the second half of his bill (I require a 25% up front to cover material costs) So he comes to pick up bike, on which I had done a opaque white under a candy blue "plasma" pattern, and he said he would take the bike home and make sure he was happy, and then come back and pay. ( que alarm bells ). I refused the offer, and havent seen him since. to avoid future problems like this, Ive written up a quick "contract" in hopes to clear myself legally in future circumstances. I was hoping someone with experiance in this area could offer me some advice, both on how to deal with difficult customers, and the legal routes to take should they decide not to pay at all. Heres what I have come up with so far... Contract For Painting Services The customer,________________, Has agreed to pay the previously agreed on price of ______, For the painting services of (my signature here). The 25% Up front payment totalling $____ has been paid on _______, and work will begin immediatly after purchase of materials. Upon completion of the services to the agreed specifications, the Customer will be able to pick up his/her item(s) after paying the remaining 75%, totalling $ ______. If the customer neglects paying, the item(s) will be held by the Painter, until the payment has been completed. Customer signature and date. x______________ ____________________ Contracted painter signature and date. x______________ ____________________ Its not perfect, as I have no legal experience, So I kind of winged it, based on what I've seen online. any advice or criticism is appreciated. Thanks.
  15. I think for a car to be considered erotic it has to be something that when you say hey man I saw a ...... at the gas station yesterday everyone gets excited about. So for a oil baron in dubai, something like a 1 off.. or for a little hick town in Georgia, a camaro zl1 or a viper. To me its more of a look, then a price tag... I mean you can buy a 70, 000 f150 from saleen or roush racing ir what have you but its still just an f150.....
  16. Has anyone used the product, CrystalFX, from alsa corps? I've been looking at results of the product, and think its pretty neat and was going to give it a try. I am just curious if the 90 a bottle is worth it....
  17. I ran some Vallejo model air through it just a bit ago and was very impressed with the results. It is very comfortable to use and the removable cups make cleaNing it very easy.
  18. I was mainly concerned with the multiple o rings I saw. They (o rings) tend To not fair so well with solvents as I'm sure you know. Figured I would be safe rather than sorry.
  19. I dont think its mentions anything about ptfe seals. But like Harry mentioned the manuals mention solvents and such. Is that side feed trigger type one you have, a fan spray?
  20. Huh. I must have missed that part. Thanks!
  21. I recently picked up the neo at hobby lobby, the brush and 10ft braided hose cost me 26.50 (yay for coupons and giftcards!!) And I noticed it doesn't say anywhere on the site, manual, or box, if it is compatible with solvents... I sent doctor cranky a message and he believes it is not safe to use with solvents. So far a fairly extensive google search has turnded up nothing. If anyone has any more info, I would appreciate the help.
  22. Smoooooth paint job. First time trying bare metal foil didnt come out too bad...
  23. Yeah I defiently think this is a great kit, for the price and simlicity to build, the detail is great and the easiness of customization makes this one of my favorite kits so far.
