  1. I must agree....as much as I am a true Round2 AMT/MPC follower and buyer, that is a pathetic list of up and comings....unless some surprises are lurking around the corner...let's hope so....the Ace...
  2. thanks for that, Alex, if that's the case, then 2 more to add to my list......best, the Ace...
  3. thanks, Bill , I feel much better now.....looks great too.......the Ace...
  4. I have never owned either of them, Mark, so by all means fill us in here on the possible combo's or idea's using both....may have to get one of each,,,anyhow, thank you in advance.....the Ace....
  5. .......all right, I feel a bit better now, but not much........the Ace....
  6. Bill, this GP of yours is shaping up nicely,,,but inquiring minds want to know.....WHERE is that dog gone Vette that was going to be finished .....I hate being kept in suspense, it's a character flaw of mine...lol..//////........the Ace.....
  7. that's nice info here, Dave, and thanks for that.....never was a 49 Ford fan, but I believe that may have just changed just moments ago...lol.........the Ace...
  8. I love it....I want to build mine now,,,,no, wait , after the 66 Ford I'm building, the 65 Chevelle wagon, the Gremlin,,,,,lol.......looks great, Bill....best, the Ace...
  9. yeah, well they don't have to drink tea with you, they can have coffee.........your car's are built for your taste's and interests, and if some find that doesn't suit them, they can click to another page.....I have, and always will build to my liking and interest's,,,, and old AMT, MPC, and JOHAN kits are from our era, and in my view the backbone and heritage of this hobby.....those kit's will still draw interest when so many other's will be largely forgotten.......keep building them, Ron,,, I do.........the Ace.......
  10. I didn't know this man, but that's unimportant after hearing this just now..... my precious wife and all 3 of my friend's have been taken by cancer, so my thoughts and deepest sympathy are with all that loved him........I get a sick feeling in my chest when I read this stuff......the Ace..........
  11. .....what can I say, Joe....another knockout.....love it......the Ace...
  12. I like the black steelies, or the chrome moons.....either are just right, IMO.....the Ace...
  13. in checking on 65-66 Galaxie pics and info in the last few days for some referencing on my build of a 427 car, I found nothing on that Terry car, nor did my friend I asked about it that has a huge magazine collection......the Ace....
  14. Ron, you always knock us out with something extra cool....and DISASTER,,,,,you've done it again.....great piece.....the Ace....
  15. mine's Fiery Orange now you have jarred my memory....it's more of a brown sugar, bronze orange, but possibly if I had cleared it or blew some Tamiya pearl clear over it, that might have changed it totally. next time.......lol........the Ace....
  16. mine is painted in the other testors met. orange spray,,, forget the name as the can got tossed ages ago,,,,but look at how totally different Bill's color is from mine.....I polished mine out with wax and all, but no clear was added.....I think Bill's color then topped with clear looks better overall.....may have to build another one day,,,,,,i think the wild decals would look great over a nice bright met. blue with clear blue overspray too......the combos of color here are endless.....sure do like Bill's car, though.......the Ace...
  17. perfect,,,sounds like about what I may have done on mine.....that gasser front axle setup goes together in a snap with no problems as I recall....probably outdated by todays standard of some kits, but it still shows well and fits together well too.....are you going more decals as well, or are we stopping there, Bill....interested to hear thoughts on that.....the Ace......oh, your having it done by the weekend,,,,why not, I admire the excitement and drive to proceed....I started a new build Saturday, and, as usual, am just crawling along....good for you.....
  18. the only thing I recall on this build is to be sure your slicks fit properly, as I seem to remember having to adjust things a bit to get it right,,,,,other than that, its an easy but fun old gal to build......what induction option are you going with, Bill,,, one 'charger or two, or something else entirely....the Ace...
  19. yup, apparently he coughed up the dough to fix everything, but all paid off in the end I hear. but, Round2 will run their show differently than Dave does, I'm sure......anyhow, I remember also having a talk with people that sell 12 inch military figures and even tooling one small pistol with minimum detail overseas costs about 5 grand.......the Ace...
  20. yes, mine has all that stuff the kit provides...as mentioned, check it out, .....the Ace...
  21. I built and posted one of these back a couple years when it came out, built it similar to yours, and painted it Testors orange something, the color the same but different,,,,,than yours. I just looked at it for the first time in awhile, and the all black interior is ok, but a colored one will be nicer.....if you want to compare all, its in drag cars, Sock it to ME.....the Ace...
  22. I like the white inserts....but think a beige or black interior would go best with the white here.....when I built mine I went all black interior, and wish now I had a secondary color in there.....so far, it looks great Bill....the Ace...
  23. I agree totally, Arthur....and we may get lucky on this one in the future, but as you I don't have the in's and out's of the industry either, but I remember guy's saying some years back that Dave the Model King, when time for him to reissue the Tempest AWB funny car kit found that the front grille piece and clear glass section had to be retooled for production, and it cost around 20 grand to gear this up....sounds crazy, but that's what I heard....so, Round2 are only going to reissue what suits the budget I guess. I know the Larson USA 1 Vega coming in 2017 was delayed because of tooling changes that apparently were not budgeted for in 2016 as planned, so it's strictly economics that dictate what kits we will, and won't get to add to our stack. as for your comment about the 72 RR being an annual copy cat or not, I agree as well,,,it would sell like crazy regardless. but, a true selling feature of the idea of an annual reissue is that the custom concept car version shown on the box art appeals to many Mopar guys, as it was an actual car,,,,,and if the kit was essentially like before with the Cragar wheels, all the drag strip goodies, and an expanded decal sheet and all the new tires and such it would be killer....lets hope enough guys grumble they want one........the Ace....
  24. Arthur, I think it all comes down to tooling cost....a small firm isn't going to put out 10 or 15 grand to retool a couple of parts, and sometimes its more than that apparently. it's always the bottom line they look at just to survive these days....but, I'm with you on re popping a 71 or 72 bird here, especially the 72 car. that 72 kit mib drew stupid money even back in the old days, as when I frequented shows constantly in the mid 80s thru mid 90s, the 71 annuals were fairly easy to get, but the 72 issue was tough, and expensive in most cases. if they have no intention of re popping it I may break down and try getting one on ebay when a mint example turns up. maybe some of us should lobby John at Round2 to see if its a project they are considering,,,, but to make it exactly as the annual was, they would be into some costly upgrades for sure....the Ace...
  25. ...I'm with you on that, Arthur, ....as much as I am a big Round2 AMT/MPC supporter, I wonder as well about some reissued kits. they cater to all tastes and interests, however some, like the RR mentioned, would be a sure fired hit and a sales giant ....even nice if a 71 RR came back in the annual format as well..........the Ace...
