....interesting idea, and I have never owned an AMT 59 Vette for some reason, however I was wondering.....does the 62 grille, bumpers and all fit in without too much problem,,,,I ask because for some reason the 59 kit always looked a bit larger, and a tad out of scale......again, I don't have one around to compare......the Ace.....

.......why go to all the hassle...just use the Revell kit or kits, and build a M/SP car from those, using whatever parts you may need from your part's stock. hacking and cutting up the AMT body may take the fun out of that project.......the Ace.......

yeah, I DO remember that now,,,,,,where's the 20 buck's you owe me, bro........lol........the ACE....

Revell vs. AMT 1962 Corvette comparison?
AC Norton replied to bbowser's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
.......it's easy to sum up this thread....if you demand more detail and want to put considerably more work into a build, then the Revell car would be for you. yet for some of us, who love old kit's and don't micro analyze each and everything down to the very last bolt, rivet, or the cello on the box.....then the AMT kit is a fun and easy build here, especially as the SOCK IT TO ME gasser version, or even another build of your choice. whatever spin's your crank, I guess, but keep one thing in mind here....50 year old technology some time's does not satisfy to the standard's that many of today's modeler's demand, but for other's the older stuff is still a joy to own and build. as for the headlight issue, no doubt Revell got that one right compared to the old AMT Vette, however with today's technology they should have, considering they have dropped the ball with many other's........ that's just my 2 cent's.........the Ace...... -
bad, Richard, you're just plain bad.....lol.........I like that in a person, I really do.....the Ace.....

68 roadrunner LETS GO BIRDWATCHING...FOR JUST 10.5 SECONDS...
AC Norton replied to AC Norton's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
why white headers,,,ah, why not.....4 of my own personal strret/strip cars in the 70s and 80s had VHT white painted headers on them,,,,not to mention about a zillion other race and street car's then, and even now......strange question really...........the Ace....- 55 replies

Bill, running cheater's is fine, however many ran an MH or other popular brands as well....my point....I would use a set of the AMT MH slick's like included in many of their current line, not to mention their tire pack sets that include 4 set's all differently detailed....the Ace....

at that time the wedge motor car's ran fender well exit headers, made by various header constructor's. the Johan headers from the 64 Dodge kit's are your easiest bet here, as picking up painted used sets online should not be a problem. if you run an ad in the WANTED section on the forum here, you would most likely get results too...as for cheaters, the same 64 Dodge has a set in it as well......just a thought.....best, the Ace....

I'm with Richard on this one.....even skillfully applying some fresh ZAP A GAP thick type, building the area up you need fixed, and installing strip plastic for clips. then, the hard part comes by filing and sanding to the desired shape, fitting the windshield in and out as you go, until it's a perfect world...that is a very tough, tedious fix, but I have fixed worse back in the day...it's only time and the desire to win, and you can do it.....the Ace.....

Marty, the best and easiest way to check which one you'd prefer on your project, is to shoot some of each on plastic spoons.....that way you can compare each one, and, in buying a cheap bag of such spoons at a dollar store, you have them in stock for testing all your sprays.....just a thought...the Ace......oh, lastly, if the paint you choose is a true candy, you will need to first spray your build with either silver, gold, or copper as base.....
