  1. .....Todd, if was an NHRA stocker, super stocker, or m/p car, then I'd say yes . but, AHRA and IHRA had different rules, so that's a good question.....was U.S. 30 sanctioned by NHRA,,,I can't recall.....the Ace....
  2. thanks, Michael, for such nice feedback. it's very inspirational to hear that from an esteemed builder such as yourself....I used to have such drive and determination back in the day, but now just want to have another donut and pass out...lol.............regards, the Ace....

  5. ....yeah, Steve,,,that was my first thought on that strange question too....thanks for jumping in first. the Ace.....
  6. many doorslammer drag cars, then and now as well, tint them in various colors for accenting other colors on the car, and give that ' hot rodded', modified appearance. Its something I have always liked in most cases,,,,thanks for asking, Harry......the Ace....
  7. It looks great IMO, but we always find something we aren't happy with on our own builds....however, sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone....just a thought.....the Ace....
  8. MPC annual 68 Camaro did not have the turbine, just 69 Camaro and Firebird..........if you ever get bored with that annual 69 'bird I have a safe, warm haven for it.....lol.....the Ace...
  9. thank you Mike, your kind comment is appreciated. the Ace........
  10. thanks, Richard.....your comments are appreciated as always. this kit has a million pitfalls, and can be tough to get some things JUST the way you want, but generally it will do......best, the Ace....
  11. Greetings and hello to all,,, Built for MODIFIED PRODUCTION class, similar in equipment to a Sox and Martin, Landy, Grotheer style Mopar door slammer from the late 60s early 70s era I suppose. Added some goodies from the parts stash, decals, and a bit of this and that as well.....paint is Testors Inca gold, then Tamiya clear, and finally Tamiya pearlcoat , and finally polished and waxed out. That's about it, and about all this ol' bird here can muster up for now. I welcome comments, or anything that you may want to ask .... all the best,,,,the Ace.....
  12. ......just outstanding, Roger......I hope the m/p 68 roadrunner I'm finishing presently turns out half as well.....great work there...best, the Ace....
  13. ...I have one,,,no Wankel but its a nice issue for sure.....the Ace....
  14. and a great looking Z28 it is too......I am sure I have both white and black stripes for this....I will gladly send them out to you if you want to give it another shot......the Ace....

  17. looks like the Revell 69 Charger to me, and its dynamite too.....you build a nice, nice car ..........the Ace.........
  18. ........yeah, Steve....I'd say its past acceptable.....its dynamite in my books.....very nice piece,,,the Ace...
  19. I hear you, Bill, but for various reasons I have never really aspired to their models. I'm set in my ways and too old school probably, however MPC, AMT, and JOHAN will always be my favorites.... Revell, Monogram, and the rest can adorn every other stack...just not mine.....the Ace.....
  20. .....I avoid anything Revell and always have, but regardless, sorry to hear your dilemma..........the Ace....
  21. .......bad, bad, Badman Chevy........best built piece of this old killer I've ever seen......love it, and terrific work there....best, the Ace.....
  22. Niko, something helpful I have found useful over the years is that Humbrol hand painted interiors with flats look great when sprayed the next day with Testors semi gloss right from the rattle can. it puts a nice sheen on all, and, if the hand paint job isn't perfect in spots, it seems to make those areas less evident of that.....just a thought, I have done this a dozen times or so, and it really helps......best,,,,, oh your cars all look great too....the Ace....
  23. ......75 was the first year for the small black rubber bumper guards.....prior years did not have those. I sold at a Chev store from 1977 to 1988 and several ended up as used cars on our lot......very common at the time, and most folks hated the guards as it took away that clean look enjoyed by the earlier models, if you catch my drift....the Ace...
  24. .....why is the engine bay,,sad,, as you say....the inner fender splash panels fit nicely when installed properly, allowing for good hood hinging movement. the rad can be detailed with paint , and fits evenly and the firewall piece can be paint detailed as well. if a brake booster is added, and a power unit was standard at that time, then add one. as for a/c lines and all the rest, that's up to each builder. but, I can assure you that with the hood pad painted in, some basic detail, and a clean, wired engine of your choice, the engine compartment area can be quite pleasing.....over the years I have built a few MPC 68- 80 era Vettes, and with a bit of effort, they can look fine.....the Ace....
  25. well, now that you ask, the job is all yours to research, repair, and figure out each and every one of them, then share and post all for the rest of us to read, be impressed, study your pictures,,,,,then toss our said kit back in said pile for yet another day...lol........the Ace....oh, on another note, that new issue 75 Vette is a pretty nice piece overall, and worth getting if one has no example of it at all in their pile......
