In the super bowl this past sunday? Cause thats not what happened. As a Lions fan, I hate the patriots more than the Packers, but they didnt start the fight It doesnt matter, both teams lost their composure. Pretty childish. I understand the heartbreak when youre so close, but at a professional level you just cant do that. There have been several incidents on the Lions that I wish didnt happen that are embarassing, but I dont deny they happened

Space-Saving Model Display Shelves
Quick GMC replied to Quick GMC's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you look at the rear picture, there is a large slot. You screw a wood mounting block that comes inside, to the wall. Then you slide the shelf over it and it sets in place. The shelf lowers about a 1/2" down onto the wood block. There is a lip on the inside top part of the actual shelf, so it can't slide off. If there is an earthquake, it might slip around a little, but it won't come down. Use some museum wax on the tires to stick it to the shelf or something and you're good to go. You can take the wax off and I would guess some denatured alcohol would remove the rest of the wax residue. Unless you paint the tire treads, it should be harmless. Here. Don't mind the screws, I don't know what I was doing. The screws go in the other way to mount it to the wall. This is what it comes with Here I am doing the opposite; Sliding the block in and lifting it up. When you mount to the wall, you will be sliding the shelf onto the block and setting it down. -
I hung a few of these small shelves in our son's room to put a couple things on. I had one I didn't install sitting on my desk at home. I took out my 67 Chevelle that had a major accident and repaired it. I went to put it away when I looked at the shelf and thought it might be just the right size. I got them at Home Depot, I believe they come in a two pack. they also have several other sizes. Everyone is always moaning about space issues, these you can hand anywhere on the wall. When done right, they are solid. Here is the shelf at Home Depot. I cannot find the 8" shelf on the website, but if you go in the store they have them there. Comes with all the mounting hardware Back

what game were you watching? The Seahawks started the fight, that's why their player was ejected. I don't know any Seahawks fans that don't acknowledge they started the fight. Also the Patriots were called on a LOT of stuff last night, including offensive pass interference. I hate the Patriots, but there was no one-side reffing in that game.

I use stamps.com. I can print postage at my house. One thing ive learned is do not use their flat rate boxes, it almost doubles the price If you really want to be cheap take all the bags out, flatten the box halves and put it in a large padded envelope I would say anywhere betwee. $20-$30 depending on the size.

Your science is correct, your information is not. The temp on the field was low 50's.

the fact that they put "gate" into the name just makes it that much more of a joke. I hate the Patriots more than any other team in the league, but this is just comically sad. First they say 2 psi low, then they say they don't know exactly. Then they say a locker room attendant is under suspicion. If they did it intentionally, they should be punished. However it doesn't matter and would not have changed anything in this particular instance. There is no reason to reveal anything before the super bowl. The Colts got blown out by a lot more than any low psi footballs could have possibly helped.

Look for the Canon T3i. They are phasing it out and they have been on sale for great prices. Best Buy recently had a deal for $550 I think, with 2 lenses. I got one a few months ago and I really like it. If you learn how to use it, you can take some seriously good photos with an entry level camera. A canon 1.8 lens is pretty cheap now, i think $150. That would be good for shooting models I think. The lower the number, the more it blurs out the background. I'm saving up for a Sigma 1.4

Historic Racing Miniatures

just because you don't find it reasonable doesn't make it so. When the majority of customers of a certain business prefer to give that business money and wait whatever time is necessary to receive the product, the majority basically decides what is reasonable. This is not an everyday business. Go buy some resin from a company that will give you a one week turn around and see how good it is. You are absolutely entitledto purchase elsewhere and have your opinion. But when you repeatedly bold, italic and quote the same word over and over, it doesn't mean you get to decide what that word means. Personally, for me I find it reasonable to wait several months for a high quality product that I cannot find elsewhere. -

the funny thing is if he hired people to help him cast the quality wouldn't be where he wants it then people would complain about that too. When you have an ultra custom product for an ultra niche market, you don't get quality, fast and cheap. the prices are good, the quality is top notch, it's not going to be fast. -
Stuffed cat helicopter video. It's art, really...
Quick GMC replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
there was a big news story when this came out a couple years ago, people were outraged. The cat was already dead and rather than throwing it in the dumpster, I thought this was a pretty clever idea. Catcopter is awesome -
I cant remember what forum I saw it on, maybe an airplane model forum. They had their regular showcase areas for everyone to post their work then they had one conglomerate showcase section where dif you posted your model it was fair game for criticism. If you posted in the normal sections that nobody was allowed to criticize only comment, but if you posted in the special section then you were basically asking for constructive criticism. I think that was pretty effective from what I saw.

Thats going a little far. He may not.be the best businessman, but theres no need to call him a crook. Ive had my fair share of frustration from Kevin, but I eventually received everything I ordered

It is pretty well known that there is a wait for HRM stuff. If someone has it.in stock its because theyve had it for a while. I have been informed by a few reputable people that there is a backlog of jobs and he does the best he can. With trade shows and other stuff, I dint think he ever catches up to the point where he casts your order right when you place it Check with your vendor first. Also have tour vendor contact harold if possible to give you an ETA. As someone who is fed up with with waiting for orders with no comminication, I have no problem waiting for my HRM stuff. It will come, and when it does, it will be worth the wait. -
Mustang Guys, take notice

The back looks good. The front is kind of weird. Overall I like it, but the wheels are a joke. They kill it for me -
This is it - The all new Ford GT

You just got done with a speech about everything should be a V8 in America, and then you say you want a V10... -
29MPG isn't the future, that's the problem. EPA wants 50 MPG+. GM Has done amazing things with the pushrod engine, but there's only so far you can go. This is the whole thing, they are going for long term, not just right now.

Kurt Busch may have gone over the edge...
Quick GMC replied to Custom Hearse's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
we'll know for sure if Busch suddenly commits suicide or disappears. -
At what cost though. Are you willing to pay for what it costs to get the cars that much lighter? There has to be a balance. Sure they can do what you're saying, but they won't sell many.
-
and how much do you think that cost to do that?

This is not accurate. MOST engines do not have forced induction. MOST engines these days make their horsepower from the engine itself as well. They had fuel injection in the mid-late 50's. It's just controlled by computers now. Fuel injection does not fit into the same category as supercharges and turbos. Fuel injection is only a delivery system, the other two are forced induction. How is anyone even complaining about aluminum frames? It's a comically bad argument. The manufacturers HAVE to meet certain fuel mileage requirements. This is their solution. Why not just reduce weight and use a V8? Well, when you start adding complex systems for fuel management, monitoring, etc. all these little boxes and wires start adding weight. Why have a heavy V8 when you can get the same power from a turbo V6 for less weight? Also, as far as maintenance goes, THEY DON"T WANT YOU WORKING ON YOUR OWN CAR. That's the whole point. They want people to look under the hood and go "F-this, I'm taking it to the dealer." I was factory-trained Jag tech. I'm no longer in the field, but I Was ASE certified and Jaguar certified tech at a top 10 ranked dealer. When I was in training, we got to play with the new 2004 XJ before it was for sale. it was huge compared to it's predecessor. There wasn't enough extra room inside the car to justify the size increase. it was all due to the new technology. New aluminum frame instead of steel. Air ride shocks that required more computers and more wiring to support it. New braking system that required more computers and more wires to support it. This system reduced the 60-0 braking distance by 90 feet. We ended up gutting one of these things at work a while later. The main cabin harness was about 30 feet long and weighed quite a bit. You couldn't fit all this stuff in an old muscle car without loosing a tremendous amount of space inside, like comically small interior afterwards.
-
Have you seen a new car gutted of it's harnesses? They are reducing the weight of the car quite a bit, but the weight comes back in the wiring and electronics. They have to reduce the weight of the cars to compensate for this. This is also the reason why the cars are so much bigger than before, they have to fit all this stuff in there somewhere.
-
That was my point. People keep complaining about the old days, but in the end, are todays cars really that bad?
