I have made steady progress, but I'm fighting this kit for every assembly step. Mostly fit isn't great. What dry fitted well prior to painting is a bit of a pain after several assembly steps. The Chassis is now complete, not everything fits properly, but its close enough. the coachwork is complete too. Just final trim and seats left to do. I'm still annoyed at the Alclad II chrome, it keeps rubbing off during assembly handling. I'm having to regularly re-mask and re-spray.

Absolutely stunning! What a beautiful car. -
Beautiful colour on the body shell!

The clever design of this dash is that there is a front piece with holes in it & a rear piece with the dials that fit through. I've also drilled out 6 of the knobs and replaced them with steel pieces.

The left side interior panel was pre-painted & glued into the carriage. This was because the carriage was broken on the rear left corner, this allowed me to fill and sand effectively. I did mask for painting the body, but it leaked through. so I've had to mask and re-spray. I hoping that's the last of spraying on this one.

The Chassis now glued to the boddy. the engine isn't glued in, but I've been trying to set the dash with the steering wheel as it comes out of the engine.

This is an old kit & it doesn't always have good fit, it takes a bit of effort to get thrings right Plus do you paint before assembly, or after?! Thecentre hinge of the bonnet is silver (chrome), but I for some reson, the Alclad II chrome rubs off rather easily, so it disappeared during handling. As seen in this image, i used the body and front grille as a jig for setting. But unfortunately, the pegs left an imprint in the Zero 2K and it needed to be re-polished. despite the efforts, the 5 piece bonnet isn't quite square, and the front left side is a bit wonky, but luckily, I'm not looking for perfection.

Thank you Mr Slusher!

Excellent drawings, it's a pretty cool car too

It's pretty good considering tha its an airfix snap kit! Its tempting me!

I've also painted and coloured the trim of all the lights, that little strip under the rear wing was a pain! Unfortunately the tail lamps are a weak & I managed to brake one in half ? Not a happy builder at the moment
-
I also masked & sprayed the window trim BADLY! I'm going to have to redo it all. worst i've ever done!

So I was waiting to clear coat at the same time as my Mazda MX5, but decided to bring this forward. the clear coat did work well (Zero 2K), but its unfortunately darker than the unmasked bits. I'll live with it!
