You're welcome! Enjoy the kit! -
Those are going to be cool Dan! Where did you get all these kits? I was lucky that a friend had one that I traded for. I'm definitely gonna watch these. I don't know why I like these pick-ups so much.... I guess 'cause they look so cool.

Don't rush me Cap'n!!!!  Sorry to hear about your Fotki album. I use Potobucket. There's been only 1 time I've had a problem with it, and that was when some NoNads had hacked into the system, and knocked out Photobucket for a couple of weeks. Hope you get it fixed soon, I like seeing your work! Ah!!!! So you're the the person I need to give credit to!!!! It was your build that inspired this build. I saw that car in a magazine a while back, and thought it would be cool to build something like it. When my friend Jim gave me this kit, the first thing I thought of was your build, and how cool it was! so here is the inspiration of your work Dave.... SCARY? ISN"T IT!!!! Thanks Dave! -
I got this in the mail today.... Factory sealed, never been opened. Kit date is 1977.

Didn't get a chance to do anything on it, so when I do, I'll update it.... Hopefully soon. -
Thanks Don. I like Dan's better. It's got those cool fenders. The kit's got it's low points, but I've been working on it. A build off? Finish date a year from now.... Better make it 3 years!!!!

Here's an update. I decided to add fenders and custom roll pan to the rear. I'll add putty to mold them in on my next update. -

How do YOU assemble your project?
Custom Hearse replied to beefheart22's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
With reckless abandon! Actually, it depends on what part of the kit I'm building. If I'm putting together the engine, I build most of it then paint it. Then paint the small parts (starter, belts, oil filter if separate, etc,). It doesn't really matter how it's done, just as long as you are happy with the results.... -
I think he means that they are leaning a different direction if you had them side by side, but they are made that way so that they look like they are leaning backwards to indicate speed....

What do you drive?
Custom Hearse replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know of a guy in Springfield Mo. who decided to get more speed out of his Geo Metro.... He put a blown 454 Chevy into it. He had to build a new firewall, new dash board, new seating arrangement.... Then he narrowed a Ford nine inch (all that was left pretty much was the pumpkin), and added pro street tires to it. I wish I still had the pics i took of it.... -
Don Garlits Museum visit
Custom Hearse replied to David Thibodeau's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I went to the museum way back when. I still have the "Pit Pass" ticket with the date July 25 2004 stamped on it. Great place to visit. I spent a lot of cash there! Great pics there Dave. Loved seeing the place again. -

Gregg's New Cars
Custom Hearse replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Let me guess Gregg.... A mermaid popped up on shore from the Pacific and gave you 3 wishes.... Only problem is that you have to go deep sea diving to retrieve your cars.... -
That will look good. I wish you the best with it. I had started building a Dodge magnum hearse, but never finished. I got most of the bodywork done on it, and i need to finish it sometime. Here's a few pics of it.... Keep posting your progress, I'd like to see how it's going.

My mailman dropped this off for me yesterday.... It was issued in 1976. I was 13 when it came out.... My, how time does fly.... I've got a few ideas of how I'd like to customize it, but I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna.

That's the '97 version CVPI with chrome spotlights. In '98 they changed the body front and back, and added the molded black plastic spotlights made by Unity. Your model is correct with the chrome spotlight. Here's a picture of my daily driver.... This is the newer spotlight by Unity.
