  1. Tonight I worked on the engine a little more. I used some putty on the engine at the bottome to fill in the words stamped on the block "ARIAS HEMI", since it was cut in 2. I then cut the side of the hood off, so I can estimate how far below the bottom of the hood the super charger will sit. I might have to cut a hole in the hood.... Here's the original hood.... And the hood sides cut off with a view of the supercharger.... This is just an estimate at this point, but I still need to locate some motor mounts on the frame. More than likely the engine will sit at this height, giving it enough room for the oil pan. Another update soon....
  2. Saved from the wall huh? It looks good. I like a lot!
  3. Thanks K.K. I appreciate the reply. I like your idea for the Mercedes. Especially the center of the car, with the new windshield, and re-working of the doors. The tires might be a bit small. but you could always use 18 to 20 inch wheels on it. What I'm interested in is what engine you would use? If it were me, I'd probably use a 454 Chevy. I think that would make a great cruiser. Thanks for sharing that with me!
  4. And another up-date.... Still working on the engine, but got a few more details added to it. A timing cover, water pump, a supercharger. Here's the pics.... More updates later.
  5. Up date.... I've started the engine for this build. A friend of mine gave me 2 Hemi engines from a pulling tractor kit (thanks Rick), and I set to work cutting and chopping them up, and turning them into a V-12 Hemi. Here's what I've gotten done so far.... Here's the engines before i started them.... And after.... I'll have another update soon....
  6. Why is it wives always like pink? Still.... it does make it different. Hopefully the buffing process will darken it a little. Excellent work Marcos.
  7. Looks great Gregg, but I agree with the others. We need to see more.
  8. Awwww.... Come on Jim, have some enthusiasm! You know you love to have another show this year....
  9. Model. Definitely model.
  10. I'm trying to talk them into doing 2 shows a year.... I really had a blast! Come on Edens and Bowerman, we need more shows!
  11. I would choose one that looks like this one.... Another project I need to complete....
  12. Thanks Jon! We were glad to have you and your friends join us, and that you enjoyed the show. We're getting pictures posted on our website right now. I'll put a link on here when they're on there in a couple of days. Thanks again, we really did enjoy having you there!
  13. Thanks guy's! Thanks Ron! We've been doing everything we can to help out Camp Quality. At the end of the year we donate all the money in the clubs bank account to them. Camp quality had some bad luck last year when the camp got hit by a tornado. We were able to donate close to $2,000 dollars from the proceeds of this show, and hope that we'll be able donate a whole lot more at the end of the year. Thanks again!
  14. Congrats on the model! Makes me wish I had kids now! Seriously though, your son is cool for getting you that kit. I'd like to see it when you build it.
  15. We had our model show yesterday, and the number of entries was staggering! Here's a link to Joplin's newspaper on the show.... http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/local_story_073222523.html And the local television station.... http://fourstateshomepage.com/media_player...media_id=132741 http://fourstateshomepage.com/media_player...media_id=133791 Thanks to all who attended, and maybe Gregg will put this show into MCM (hint, hint! ).
  16. Hmmm.... I don't know about you and Jim.... As long as you don't start singing the song "Hero".... Thanks guy's! I'll have another update soon!
  17. Thanks for the advice Ben. I'll have to get some CSC and see if i can't get it cleaned off.
  18. Actually, it doesn't have a frame, just a '27 T-body, grill, and assorted parts.
  19. Update.... It's up on it's tires. Next comes the body work, and then I'll start the engine on it. I've thought about scratchbuilding a V-12 Hemi for it, and have drawn up a design for it. Meanwhile, here's a couple of update pics of it.... Let me know what you think....
  20. Nahh.... Hey I know! How about I give you a swift kick in the hind end? Am I going to have to request Edens to stand you in the corner next meeting, and ask your other half to ground you from working on your models?
  21. Uhmm, Jim? Uhhhh..... NO!
  22. Hey Foxer.... Where do I send my order? I had a problem with the Allison engine, and decided not to use it. I'm thinking maybe a V-10/V-12 Hemi. Any suggestions on what would look good sitting in the frame rails?
  23. I decided to not build the engine. I actually got sick and felt lightheaded from the smell. I guess I'll build a different engine for the '34 Mer-Rodder. I have never had a problem sanding chrome off before. Thanks Bob, I wondered if it could be the undercoat. The chrome just flakes off when it is sanded or cut on.
