  1. #1 Nowadays trucks don't require more than one plate. In all 50 states, trucks are now licensed for the state it is based in. #2 See answer #1 #3 The trailer license numbers are different than trucks, as 1 truck will not pull the same trailer all the time. Owner operators may own their own trailers, but the plate on it will not be the same as the truck. #4 The "bingo card" carried the inspection stickers for each of the states. They are no longer in use. #5 The first number is the "Vehicle Identification Number". The second number is the "Inter-Continental-Carrier" registration number. The third number is "United States Department Of Transportation" registry number. The fourth number is the "Gross Vehicle Weight" rating number, showing how much total weight is allowed to be carried (usually this number is 80,000LBS, but since this carrier uses split tandem trailers, they have an extra 10,000LBS extra allowable weight difference). The fifth number is "Gross Vehicle Weight" rating in metric weights (this carrier runs in and around Canada a lot). #6 See #5 for U.S.D.O.T. I hope this helps you out....
  2. Thanks Hondo! That helped out a lot!
  3. I wish you the best of luck! I hope it goes perfectly!
  4. That is looking great Dave! Just waiting for the next installment!
  5. Hey!!!! You stole that idea of using that paint color from me!!!! (and I stole it from Jim, and he stole it Bill, who stole it from Fred, because he stole it from Phil, who stole it from Allen, who stole it from Arnie, who got permission from John to use it, after, of course, he stole it from Ernie, after he robbed Steve of it with a bazooka, after he swiped it from Richard, who shoplifted it from the hobby shop.) Nice job on the paint by the way! Looks good!
  6. Thanks Hondo.I went through both sites, but there is not a real good pic of the chassis. From what I can see, part of it is painted red. Thanks for the links though.
  7. Yeah.... If I knew they were gonna have a half time show like that, I would have gone out and bought the largest screen T.V. I could find! :D
  8. Hmmmm.... Your workbench seems neat.... A little TOO neat. looking forward to the build. The door panels look really good. I'll definitely be watching this build.
  9. If you were in Tuscon Arizona watching the Superbowl, for at least 30 seconds, it wasn't what you thought it was!!!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090203/ap_en_...super_bowl_porn This is good for a laugh! First Janet, now this....
  10. I set a toaster on fire when i was 10, and I can burn water.... That's my cooking experiance....
  11. My life was kind of like yours Dave.... Bad parents. My dad was the one who got me into modeling though, by buying me a 1/8th scale chopper kit. The problem was that I was only 5 at the time. He pretty much bought it for himself, and used me as an excuse. I started building models at 5, starting with that chopper, just to spite him. After that, I worked on 1/24th-25th scale kits, and haven't stopped since. I've been married and divorced three times, but still kept building (my favorite saying is if I'm the groom at a shotgun wedding, I'm gonna tell them to pull the trigger!). I believe the reason I have such a hard time finishing a model nowadays, is because I have been building models for 40 years now, and I'm getting a whopping case of the "burnouts". The main reason I build custom models is because I have so many warped ideas, that I want to see if they would work. My biggest influence on realism is a woman who owned a hobby shop in my home town of San Clemente Ca. Her advise was "when you build, think of it as if you were building a real car. If it won't work on a real vehicle, then don't put it on a kit." She was like your friends who adopted you, she pretty much did the same for me, and even hired me to work in her hobby shop. I built display models (cars, planes, trucks), and did repair work on R/C vehicles. She was the best friend and boss I've ever had. She sold the shop, and retired about 5 years later. That pretty much sums up my life and why I build models....
  12. This Vette always leaves them trying to stuttering! :o Thanks Austin!
  13. I'm in deep *%#@ now!!!! :o That does help out allot! I'm definitely going to give that a try! Thanks George!
  14. Yes (giggity), He's a REAL (giggity) man! (giggity)
  15. I remembered it was on today.... I then realized, I haven't owned a TV in 6 years....
  16. Aluminum tubing or some type of metal rod.... I was trying to find a lazy way to mount it without having to pull it back apart.... Looks like I'll have to after all.... For your good post, you can come out of your room now.... (I must be insane! I told a MARINE to go to his room )
  17. You and me both Steve.... How did you survive your wedding anniversary mistake? I had to buy my wife a new gift everyday for the next month! Thanks for the info. I love to learn new things!
  18. Thanks Brian. It gives me an idea of how it's mounted. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me! This is gonna take some time to figure up.....
  19. That looks really good Dave. I am definitely keeping an eye on this build! You did say you were gonna send that to me for my birthday didn't ya? Awesome job you are doing on this!
  20. I may shorten them a little, to get a better fit, but not too much. The fenders will hide them if I bring it in too much. I like the idea of having thin strips and attaching them to the bottom. I think I would use aluminum instead of sheet plastic though. I wish I had reference pics of how the 1:1 side pipes were attached.... Thanks Rich!
  21. Looks awesome Michael! If you decide to add an engine, what will you put in it? Keep up the good work!
  22. I recently bought a Jungle Jim red Monza funny car, and I'm trying to see if I can find reference photos so I can build it as close as possible to the real car. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  23. That is really cool! I like the steelies too. I think they'll be perfect on it! Looking forward to your next update on both the Charger and the '55!
  24. WOW!!!! If I had the $35,000 to buy that, I could start my own model company! That is really too cool! Thanks for the link Mike!
