Sounds like you just got a jumpstart there Ben, sometimes that's what it takes, I actually had been out of modeling for over 10 years and I was looking for something on youtube back at the first of the year and happened to stumble onto Dr. Cranky and got to watching some of his video's, then went and surveyed my stash and had to go buy a few supplies and here I am, I've completed 3 builds this year, so hopefully this will get your juices flowing!!

I built that kit also a few years ago Ray, I don't remember any fitment issues, actually did it as a David Pearson/Wood Bros #21 turned out really nice until it got knocked off the work bench and unfortunately was beyond repair, may have to get me another one there are a few on ebay that are fairly reasonable. A winged Torino, hadn't thought about that one, but it sounds COOL!!

Sounds like a great project James, we all have to start somewhere on these different techniques, so take your time and have fun!!
