  1. Saw many mild customs cruising in the small town I grew up in. You did a nice job on the model, excellent paint and stance. Nice details.
  2. Nice Effort, your changes are an improvement on the kits shortcomings. It's a clean build.
  3. Excellent build on an iconic car. I have been building models since the middle of the last century and remember as a teenager when these cars were cutting edge. A friend and I were making altered wheelbase model cars as you have done mainly because there weren't any available by the model manufacturers, just moving the wheelbase on the body was only the beginning, then as you have experienced the interior tub and chassis has to be dealt with. Fun stuff. I was so pleased when Moeibus had a production kit of the Plymouth AWB car and am looking forward to the release of the AWB Coronet, sadly my friend who built AWB model cars won't see it as he passed. There is a great story of a match race between this car and the Ramchargers '65 AWB Coronet on the web, possibly from the book "We Were the Ramchargers". I may attempt a build of this car but will start with the recently re-released AMT/Round 2 '65 Chevelle AWB kit. Beautiful build, so many nice details on the car, you should be proud of it.
  4. Just saw this old post and being a Ramchargers AWB fan I thought I'd comment to your question about the 2700 number. It may have indicated the weight class of a particular race. At the legendary Super Stock & Drag Illustrated race at York, Pa in '65, that is how the classes were separated, by weight. You might try looking on the HAMB site they have an AWB section. Good luck.
  5. Some interesting stuff shown, looking forward to it. I may be wrong but it looks like they made a better roof than the Plymouth.
  6. Very nice, it's good to see something different.
  7. Beautiful build very realistic fit & finish.
  8. I would love to see an all new '60's FED. a long shot as you said but who knows ? The Surfers' car has such a great minimal look and would be one I would buy. There was such a technological leap in dragster design from before '65 to after. Before there was a lot of individual looking cars, after they started to get more sophisticated and somewhat similar features. Pre '65 there were shorter wheelbases, weedburner headers, outrageous full aluminum bodies and injection scoops. After '65 the chassis lengthened, zoomie headers came into their own and somewhat minimal bodies. These are only my own thoughts about the era. Besides the Surfers' car, the Frantic Four '64-'65 full bodied car, Tommy Ivos' Barnstormer. S & H Special Stellings & Hampshire car. Since there isn't much to these cars the kit box would be mostly air, how about getting back to two cars in the box as a retro kit, since we're dreaming why not dream big ? Since we're at it how about some photo etched spoke wheels or3D printed wire wheels, the weak point in my opinion of the FED kits. I wouldn't care who manufactured them, Revell, Round 2 or Moeibus, though the latter could make it an evolving series as they have done with their offerings. Great opportunity for an ambitious 3D printer too. Good subject Tim. http://georgeklass.net/uploads/3/4/5/1/34518983/1_2192_orig.jpghttp://georgeklass.net/uploads/3/4/5/1/34518983/1_1980_orig.jpg
  9. Nice model all around, good photos and very shiny.
  10. You did a nice job with the thirty six parts in the kit, the added details and excellent finish really make it stand out. It's always nice to see a finished Chaparral model. Supurb model.
  11. Nice model, I always liked the modified cars and their individuality, with the new Moebius Modifieds it should be interesting to see how everyone modifies the modifieds. Again nice model with a lot of realistic features.
  12. One of my favorite teams. Really nice build.
  13. These photos are from a common kit build our club had earlier in the year. If they shouldn't be posted here they can be deleted. We had four members participate, Danny Price , Brad Bradeen, Robert Barkoski & Ed Noga, Brad completed four builds though not all using the common kit which was the recently re released Sand Kat kit.
  14. Nice effort on the replica.
  15. Beautiful build ! The paint, decaling & finish are exceptional. Great build of a classic kit. be proud of this one.
  16. It's nice to have kept it and to honor your Dad's memory with it, so often those that are no longer with us are forgotten and this model can rekindle some of the time both of you spent together.
  17. Very clean build, almost looks like a diecast and I mean that as a compliment.
  18. Nice effort. I like the era of FED's.
  19. Nice build as are all of your builds. This is the first one that I have seen built up and it looks very nice.
  20. Wow, what a difference a bit of effort makes. Turned out to be a nice looking model.
  21. I always liked the British sports cars and yours looks great, nice job on all areas of your successful build.
  22. Nicely done !
  23. Nice Rex, it's good that you persevered, finding and creating many parts to make it more authentic. Looks great, now to build a T/A Camaro to go along side it on your shelf !
  24. I like Baja Bugs and this one is probably the nicest model of one that I have seen yet. Your model and the workmanship on it is exceptional.
  25. This is a beautifully done model, very realistic. Exceptional color and finish work. I'm glad this post was brought back to the top.
