  1. Boat passengers should each have a life vest or jacket.
  2. Guess they'll have to update the title to "IPod in his Tractor"...
  3. Promotion took a back seat to accuracy when Chrysler Corporation rejected AMT's incorrect promotional model '66 Valiant.
  4. The '02 Cougar is slowly proceeding. Unbelievably, it passed smog on the first try; oil pan is now sealed. After buying two used sunroof motors on eBay, the roof will pop up and close down, but won't slide back and I guess that's where I'll leave it for now. Got new KYB front struts ready to install, and trying to decide on tires next. The factory ones are an odd size, 215/50R16; only ones readily available are the Atlas ones made in Thailand for around $72 each; they have good online reviews. The ones on it now are 205/55R16; some others I've seen on the New Cougar forum use 225/50R16. Any suggestions? So since my '98 Century may be on its last legs I bought another estate auction find as my next daily driver: 02 Buick Regal with 50k miles. Same body as the Century, but with a more powerful 3.8 V6, 4-wheel disc brakes, leather and sunroof. And zero rust.
  5. "Kids" was a show-stopping number from Bye Bye Birdie.
  6. I just got a paper cut on my cuticle while opening my health insurance bill.
  7. Thanks! I figure what's missing can be found in the often-reissued Cabriolet, right? I notice the wheels are 6 x 5.5" all the way up to 1948; maybe I could use a set from the AMT '37 in the front and Galaxie Unlimited '48 in the rear to give it period steelies with a rubber rake. Then pile on the surfboards. (And of course this means Round2 should be cloning the darn thing any time now...) Don't know what the PO was thinking when they hacked up the C-pillars on the Chevelle - makes it look like a Rambler!
  8. Great luck there - the '32 Plymouth is a tough one to find! Grabbed a couple wrecks from eBay yesterday: Been wanting to build this for a LONG time! Of course after I win the auction, a good unbuilt one shows up in my "recommended for you" for only $20 more. In the words of John Belushi: Also got the remains of a '64 Chevelle to salvage hood, backup lights and decklid from:
  9. Appears once again that someone has to edit things
  10. Atlas may be a good choice as well. The name apparently now belongs to some Chinese outfit - I found them this afternoon while looking for the odd sized tires my '02 Cougar takes (215/50R16). A lot of gas stations sold them way back when, and their Bucron tires were very popular with street racers due to their very soft rubber compound.
  11. Fur coat prizes on game shows came from Dicker & Dicker of Beverly Hills.
  12. "Maddening" describes some translated kit instructions, although sometimes there's unintentional humor.
  13. "Throat Wobbler Mangrove" is how you pronounce the name spelled Raymond Luxury Yacht.
  14. "Immediately!" is how Tom Lehrer said you should say goodbye to Dracula, on The Electric Company.
  15. Costs are rising, quality is falling, and I'm going to go yell at clouds.
  16. Try Carfax as well ("What's my car worth?") - good to have a second opinion.
  17. Spoonful of Vitameatavegamin.
  18. More fun with old ads. Original: The reality: (MAD Magazine has been a big influence on me.)
