The writers must have had a thing for American cars - Thunderbirds and Stingray - whose main character was named Troy Tempest, and Supercar's protagonist was Mike Mercury. And in one episode, it looks like they threw away the model and used the box instead:

Can anyone ID this kit car?
ChrisBcritter replied to ChrisBcritter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Rob, you got it! Thanks so much! I passed it on to my boss and we'll see what happens. Hope we can find the front hood. Looks like it's one of the tube-frame examples, surprisingly with an automatic. -
My boss sent me a link to an auction that has this sleek yellow... thing; I'll try to dissuade him from adding it to his stash (which never works!), but in the meantime, anyone know what it is? I ran the license number through both DMV sites without result; 950 NDI would have been issued around '74 or '75. It doesn't match any Fiberfab, Kellison or Bradley designs I can find. Over to the experts!

Dealing with the suffering from Dementia
ChrisBcritter replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My dad was sharp mentally until the day he died; he knew my mom was starting to slip and was hoping to outlive her, but she outlived him by nearly four years. It was vascular dementia that she had, caused by an inoperable blockage in an artery that takes blood to the brain. I did my best to take care of her until my brothers and I knew it was time to enroll her into a memory care home. She knew what was going on so it was less of a shock to her, and she was well cared for until she passed last October. -

Source for a flathead 6 engine?
ChrisBcritter replied to PHPaul's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
'41 Plymouth is pretty much the only game in town for a smaller flat 6; only thing is the stock Willys was a four, not a six. The MPC Hogan's Heroes WWII Jeep should have that engine. -

Factory stock '65 Comet? If that means really straight-from-the-dealer stock - with correct-height front suspension and standard wheel covers and grille - I'm in.
