Electronic Heads Up Display
gotnitro? replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wife test drove a new ford escape , and it had the heads up display. We actually thought it was very impressive keeping everything in the line of sight, yet it was transparent enough to see thru. -
Jacobus - really nice build your planning. I havent done an Aussie truck before but eventually I'll add one ! Oldmopar- wow that's gonna be awesome !! Especially easy paint scheme in flat black Counting down the days before kick off ! I so badly want to start another brockway plow, but staying focused on the oshkosh

Oshkosh snow plow
gotnitro? replied to gotnitro?'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks everyone I appreciate the feedback ! I really wanted to utilize the steerable knuckles on the front axle. Looking at photos of the steering system really had me doubting I could create the arms and have them work. Well, I'm a year older and must be more patient... my buddy sent a brochure photo that got the ball rolling.. I chucked up some solid evergreen rod in my dremel and slowly turned the profile into the rod. Drilling out the ends where the ball joint would be.. Making more pins from rod , and swaging the ends..and it actually worked !!! -
Highway - thanks for pointing that out, I recall reading about it now. I'll just message the moderators when we need things changed

What semi would you like in a kit?
gotnitro? replied to Bobcat205's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My choice would be a Mack Granite, or any of the newer freightliner trucks. Likelyhood we'll never see the Cat/ Pro Star even though it would be a simple change Any modern trailer would be welcome, Keystone is making several awesome trailer's possible , so guess I'd want a new flatbed -

Peterbilt wrecker body into car hauler
gotnitro? replied to Sam I Am's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd go a different route..and extend the front. Most of these older car haulers used removable ramps to start the car onto the bed like a U Haul truck, that was stowed. Placing a build on the bed will show how much more length you'd need. Of course , that causes the truck frame to likely be short, but that's easily fixed. I dislike messing with angles and wheel spacing . Just an idea...I have the entire ramp bed from the papa truck if your be interested -
Bills72sj - thanks for joining ! As long as that's as far as you've started I'll allow it . Most of the rebuilders are likely modified to that point , converting the bunks into day cabs
-
Awesome, cant wait to see your mini bulldog . I'll add your name thanks for entering

Trailers are certainly eligible, as long as they fall into the rules. The whole point of the BRBO is having fun, and having a variety keeps it interesting ! Just let me know what ya definitely plan to build , and I'll update the list
