  1. Looks great so far , good choice going with the new frame !
  2. Good looking shop Tom ! All your details are certainly filling up the empty space
  3. Really like the step side look with those wide tires
  4. Hes definitely still casting ! Easy to reach via fb or email.
  5. Thanks Bob ! Added the side supports last night and roughed in the spreader chute. While the tamiya was curing I started detailing out the product door and rails. Meng bolts and angle finished the door track thanks for following
  6. Plans ? Nope just photos I took of the truck and available images online. Some is purely SWAG
  7. I'd participate again , really enjoyed watching all the builds come together I'd have to get my squirrels back from Tbill though !
  8. Sam - those squirrels definitely have a way of distracting me !!! Now I've learned how to make heavy duty springs, another set will find it's way under the kw ...after the plow wife kinda suggests I finish one before starting another. I dont see the fun in that though
  9. That's nickname given to local town because the Brockway assembly plant was located there before closing, and the hood emblem is the Husky
  10. David- nope I'm in central NY . We used to get snow enough for heavy plows , but their mostly seen in the Tug Hill region
  11. Funny this post popped cause just yesterday I was looking thru stash trying to find an engine, and the KW oil field truck was sitting there. I picked up a suitable rear suspension for it at last model show from plaskit...I've gotta get that one back on the bench Cool how things like this revive a build
  12. Thanks for input, the issue was discussed on social site, and was determined that Oshkosh had changed cab after 1971. The wipers location changed to above glass instead of the cowl. I didn't check the truck serial number when I visited, but now curious . As far as the model goes..I'm gonna move the belt line trim down and get the windshield opening cleaned up and move forward. Thanks for all the feedback helping make it more accurate Stay tuned !!
  13. Sounds like my R model build..only model I've built in last 10 yrs I wanted to throw against the wall. Ended up using an older kit I traded for and tossed the reissue into the closet. Nothing fit right instructions were total joke .
  14. Ok I broke out the power tools and modified the windshield location. Its roughed in right now without any filler , but wanted to share and get opinions. Before making the insert pattern After gluing into the opening, drilling the corners and cutting the new opening I havent tampered with the trim yet, as the 1-1 has both strips, these just run short. The top molding should extend to the hood and be lower Any feedback welcome
  15. Thanks Charlie ! Broke out the angle finder from my remodeling tools to make both sides symmetrical, worked awesome
  16. Yeah looks like I could tweak the windshield location, and the trim would be easy to remove and replace . I'll putter w when I finish the sander , I rebuilt the body w wider angle . The supports still have to be installed . heres the hopper behind the cab , definitely looks better ...no more anorexic model now !
  17. Okay I see what your referring to on the cab . Still being the only available Oshkosh cab, its gonna make for an interesting project ! Thanks for input though, I may decide to tweak it , or the next one that's gonna have a Sicard snowblower
  18. Looking awesome Tom ! Really full of eye candy
  19. Thanks..guess I'm not sure what your referring to about the cab. It's a P series cab usually used on cement mixers, but will work for the plow..especially since it's the only available option ! I'm not aiming for 100 percent accuracy
  20. Hobby shop in New York had several copies in the rack, was super excited to pick one up Please drop the black background photos...the details were impossible to see , really disappointed since they were immaculate builds from John Teresi...and the gsl shots were similar Just my 2 cents
  21. Cool project Are those 1/35 tank wheels and tracks
  22. Thanks Charles I noticed the vertical shape also. I used the cab for reference judging how far out the hopper extended past the corners. I took a look back at my photos, and your absolutely right, the hopper is definitely narrow.i REALLY appreciate your feedback and will correct the sides .
