  1. Thanks everyone I appreciate the feedback ! I really wanted to utilize the steerable knuckles on the front axle. Looking at photos of the steering system really had me doubting I could create the arms and have them work. Well, I'm a year older and must be more patient... my buddy sent a brochure photo that got the ball rolling.. I chucked up some solid evergreen rod in my dremel and slowly turned the profile into the rod. Drilling out the ends where the ball joint would be.. Making more pins from rod , and swaging the ends..and it actually worked !!!
  2. Highway - thanks for pointing that out, I recall reading about it now. I'll just message the moderators when we need things changed
  3. My choice would be a Mack Granite, or any of the newer freightliner trucks. Likelyhood we'll never see the Cat/ Pro Star even though it would be a simple change Any modern trailer would be welcome, Keystone is making several awesome trailer's possible , so guess I'd want a new flatbed
  4. Awesome ! I wondered if it was Illinis or a Spaulding
  5. Awesome I'll get you updated ! Only a few more days away !!!
  6. Thank you !!! I noticed the edit option was missing after a few days, figured it was a time issue ..

  8. Jerry - cool pic ! Only few more days to go
  9. Nice kit , definitely fun and easy to assemble.
  10. Weird the board wont allow me to edit the original post now , so I'll place the new builders and projects here DRIPTROIT71 - KW K123 w 40' Great Dane box Jacobus - KW T930 Aussie Landman - IH K8 Thank everyone for participating
  11. Thanks for joining us Jacobus ! Really like the Aussie trucks
  12. Awesome, thanks for joining us Brian w the K123
  13. I'd go a different route..and extend the front. Most of these older car haulers used removable ramps to start the car onto the bed like a U Haul truck, that was stowed. Placing a build on the bed will show how much more length you'd need. Of course , that causes the truck frame to likely be short, but that's easily fixed. I dislike messing with angles and wheel spacing . Just an idea...I have the entire ramp bed from the papa truck if your be interested
  14. Bills72sj - thanks for joining ! As long as that's as far as you've started I'll allow it . Most of the rebuilders are likely modified to that point , converting the bunks into day cabs
  15. Awesome, cant wait to see your mini bulldog . I'll add your name thanks for entering
  16. Trailers are certainly eligible, as long as they fall into the rules. The whole point of the BRBO is having fun, and having a variety keeps it interesting ! Just let me know what ya definitely plan to build , and I'll update the list
  17. Highway - sorry to hear about your rotator surgeries, my step father had his rebuilt after trying to stop a rollaway trailer tire . His never healed properly either, and had very limited movement in it. Far as your build goes , the trailer exceeds the " new / rebuilder " rule , so that's not eligible. The tractor as you stated would be a complete new kit , and that would certainly qualify. I struggled with just allowing any build at any stage prior to starting the event. Finally decided to limit the starting points to those listed. Hope to see ya participate !
  18. Your welcome ! Lee - Thanks for joining in , I've added your name and build . These 1/32 offerings are gaining popularity
  19. Thanks to the moderators for pinning this topic! Casey 429 no problem I'll add you to the list , thanks for joining.
  20. I updated the first post to add the entrants and builds . I'll continue to update as the builds are chosen Have a Merry Christmas everyone
  21. Warren D - thanks for joining up I added ya to the list . That 761 was part of Syracuse's fleet, unsure when the photo was taken. I figured it was a nysdot truck, but guess they didnt run 5 hole budds on their trucks according to an enthusiast. Sam - I m trying to stay on task, but struggle with willpower when something interesting comes along lol
  22. Sam - yup I'm gonna cheer along as the builds progress. I thought about working on the kw, but my track record of getting sidetracked is well known lol and I really want to wrap up the Oshkosh plow. I did stumble across this photo , and it nearly derailed me..
  23. No worries , we'll all be following along cheering for ya !! Merry Christmas
