  1. Been puttering around adding a few details I'd spotted during my walk around. Guess my armor building OCD kicked in..I found some small link chain, and clevis' for the tailgate. the lift cylinder hoses are small diameter solder that'll attach to a valve yet to be mounted. Now completely for fun , the interior got livened up w a set of fans from double take ! Another item I wanted to add was a water bottle I spotted left on the dash...details like these always convince me these trucks are used by people, not just stored. Chucking up a scrap piece of clear sprue , and shaping w files and razor eventually gave me a suitable bottle.. More to come thanks for watching
  2. Our local HL closed unexpectedly, now it's over an hr drive to the nearest store. Good time to make day trip now to see what's discounted
  3. Wow awesome fabrication, and your paint screams 70s all the way
  4. Buddy of mine just scored a couple trucks kits, actually called to see if I wanted any...sure I'll take the IH 4300 !
  5. Quick update from last night...the glass goes in ! Dave gives the builder a slip of clear acetate for the glass w a pattern making it easier. The challenge is those small curved side glass.. Ya can see the reflection in the pics.. I secured the glass w Pledge aka Future which also helps clear any bobbles in the acetate. Ya can also see the air cleaner makes an appearance and plumbed out . Later I'll add the bare metal foil clamps . Thanks for watching Any comments welcome
  6. Wow very nice Very interested
  7. Wow that's a cool setup ! Definitely has that small budget look ya see around the local tracks ! Those window cranks are super nice
  8. Nice mixer ! I spy a steerable front axle from KFS holding up those huge front tires . I have a couple sets of those from Gary wallace, and Double Take , but dont recognize the rims Really like the addition of accumulated crud around the wheels
  9. Definitely watching this !
  10. Very sharp ! I built this kit in high school, but never turned out this remarkable
  11. Very nice kit to build , the possibility are endless for these iconic trucks
  12. Same here , these 3/4 page ads are becoming increasingly annoying. I understand it generates income , but at the same time having to sweep past piles of them is getting frustrating
  13. Hmm Mack Granite in Army that's a fantastic deal. Parts availability would be substantial also I'd assume given the commonality to civilian trucks
  14. Ok spoiler went satin black on hood ! My buddy noticed the 1:1 has the 700 series headlight buckets vs my 300 style round ones and gonna hook me up ! thanks I'm very pleased how it turned out
  15. Hahaha yeah definitely a JT favorite Thanks ! I'm really pleased how it turned out Wont be long now getting everything in final assembly
  16. Very cool paint scheme, and very rugged looking
  17. We have matching paint this time !!!! Primed everything w tamiya fine white, then 2 coats of tamiya pure orange. I still plan to add the black hood after this sets up.. that's a job for the Iwata though. I even masked the trademark white brockway grill prior to painting to avoid issues w bleedthru.. the black hood should really make the cab standout , something I've always liked on these trucks. Thanks for following along, hopefully the popcorn isn't getting stale lol
  18. Looks good Tom ! Nice detailed interior , love those pistol grip shifter
