TAT 2017-- 2010 Moebius LoneStar
gotnitro? replied to Jhedir6's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
nice kit !! I had to use the instructions from the ROG lonestar to build mine, don't care for the itemized type sheets..I'm old school like pictures lol just a heads up watch the cowl to hood fit, the hood tend to sit high..usually sanding down the cowl helps -
well, its officially finished !! I wrapped up the engine bay with a very basic wiring job, using a pre wired cap from gopher racing. A few extra wires were added from the battery going to starter and neg to block. I added plug boots from tiny tubes of wire insulation, and drilled the heads. I planned going detail heavy, but have a few kits I'm dying to start..Im my own worst critic, and see 100 things Id done over, but sure I'm being picky lol. a huge thanks to Dr. Kerry for trading me a spoiler from the mustang for the build, it fit / looks perfect ! how about pics ..grab the popcorn and enjoy ! last but not least.. thanks for the feedback along the way ! Jeff

Thanks ! I usually build trucks and armor , but starting to get into the cars since there's more variety. I used the reverse masking on the IH eagle 2 cabover a few months ago. planning another Mopar but in sublime green ..love the high impact colors they used

Very cool idea ! Using real wood will really set this build off Love the cow catcher I never would of thought of that

those show rods are so much fun to build ! the clear red over the silver base is a great color choice it really pops . what a huge improvement to the tires

ok time for a weekend update ! I added the seatbelts using a borrowed set from detail master I installed the glass, hit the chrome trim using the Molotow pen and in went the interior tub ! lets peak thru the windows...pretty Spartan now for my favorite part...no RR would be complete without the hood stripe. I used 1:1 pinstripe tape to lay out the separation lines reverse masking the black sections. Then just cover everything else up, break out the Eclipse AB and lay on Tamiya flat black..easy peezy masking.. pulled the tape off right after painting to reduce edges..a few touch ups are needed , but I'm pleased witht the hood the air grabber panel has to be installed next thanks for looking any comments welcome !

Your axles look great Brian ! Probably right about the axle Centerpoint position , had to be for weight transfer . -
I've used lights from electronic stores , they're usually clear and I just cut off the metal wires and paint w clear red or amber to suit. Usually home improvement stores have bins with these lights inside ..cheap to

Yep really like how your tunnel is working !that's the area that gave the most hurting brain cells trying to figure out how it should all work..ya made it look easy Yeah I was referring to the frame sections ahead of the spring, you've cleared my question using it for radiator, I thought the idea was having your front spring out front and the rad behind...tI'll I went back to the original photo. -

That's awesome !! My buddy drives one of these for a living , cool to see someone take stab at building one . -
moving around the build while paints dried, it was time to add the Hemi. I have to detail the snot out of it yet, ill pick up supplies at this weekends model show. I want to add a pre wired cap / wires, throttle springs, and basic wiring to the starter and probably fuel stuff. any advice very welcome its my first plumbing job lol. all that exhaust has toexit somewhere..I added the pipes from solder bent to look cool , and drilled out a couple mufflers.I plan a set of drilled tips exiting right ahead of the tires that's it for today any comments welcome thanks for following along jeff

well Dann..heres a small update !! I always wanted to try flocking an interior.. I used black embossing powder. I tried a new to me trick using pledge floor care ( Future ) for the " adhesive" and it worked awesome !! Lays perfectly smooth, and doesn't clump like thinned white glues. still need to add the seat belts ,and detail the dash..something that's always given me trouble.
