  1. Most if not all US military equipment is painted using stencils and has a hard edge . Our booth used them for each type equipment, until everything was sprayed CARC tan . Touch ups which were frequent was done free hand . When I paint armor in 3 tone NATO or other it's with an airbrush and use silly putty or blue tack..
  2. Wow excellent progress! Going with a red ford engine will really be unique good call
  3. Wow that headliner is awesome What product did you use for that pattern or material it adds so much to an overlooked area
  4. Can't wait to see your progress dave , your daycab lonestar is fantastic
  5. Mike that's hilarious! !!! Yeah I usually wear nitrile gloves while painting this time I was rushing before dinner lol Tbill- thanks I hope it'll make it to the tables...been having a serious problem with squirrels getting in our house this year... Thanks everyone for the feedback I appreciate them
  6. That's cool..I'd make a custom truck w your special edition lonestar grill and my custom bumper and lights..I'll be watching
  7. Impressive to say the least! Funny to ponder a warehouse full of these molds just sitting there waiting to hopefully be used again and not sold for scrap My employer used to make powdered metal sprockets and gears. It was amazing watching the powder similar to dust compacted into a sprocket in seconds...thousands of time per week.watched a row of parts green(before heat treating) from compaction hanging on pin rack start warping like taffy.
  8. Well...I promised pics...enjoy I probably could've gotten the frame completely painted if it hadn't ended up .all over my support hand lol..another cans gonna be required . The cab has some mild blushing I hope will mellow out ...there's no clear on yet The tool box tops will eventually be chromed..there's entirely too much red
  9. Glad I went back and checked my masking ...I cut the decals from the sheet and marked new location then remasked. Very time consuming but beats the visit to the stripper pond lol. I ended up using 1/8 tape and 1/16 green for it ..gives me more room for decals to cover the separation line. All ready for the victory red !!
  10. Thanks ! I appreciate the comments
  11. Just a peek..mike 77 saved me a ton of extra work by suggesting using the decals for front curve patterns...I was rushing and used reference pics to guessimate them...bad idea lol. Here's the start before I checked them...I'm using vinyl automotive tape for tighter curves ,this stuff is super flexible . The line along the cab bottom will likely run slightly low..I'm trying to keep the line level from cab to bed. I probably scribed the boxes low to start. The wrecker body just gets a white bottom under the tool boxes..everything else is red. I'm gonna chrome the diamond plate tops just for WOW . The kit fuel tanks were binned ,pvc pipe replacement were made to eliminate those pesky seas After I triple check the masks..maybe more, it's onto its red color coat..see ya soon Jeff
  12. The tub fits right in no problem. I squeeze the door area slightly and it pops right in
  13. Started the paint !!! Grabbed a can of duplicolor Oxford white, jerry rigged a quick booth and let it fly . I'm actually really pleased how the body turned out..the victory red will definitely make it pop! ! Hope ya like it

  15. Just waiting for better temps to start color, I've decided to build a spray booth while I wait. Fumes and over spray linger in hobby room w window cracked , need a safer way to spray indoors . My health isnt the only one effected now I'll post pics soon
  16. Good catch jim gary only uses email for ordering..typo topic corrected
  17. Gary just finished the Rockwell 6 arm rear suspension commonly seen on the autocar dump truck. Just in time with the recent reissue news of the tractor !! Can u say heavy duty haulers...here's a pic !! Figure I'd pass the word
  18. Looks great Tons of possibilities with the curbmaster
  19. Exactly right , people want the suv/ trucks and the factories pump them out . My employer is a HUGE manufacturer of timing systems for most of the automotive industry. .most not all ..and we're always informed how important truck sales are . The big announcement we were excited to hear is Ford hinted about the return of the full size Bronco..I can't wait to see one first hand knowing if the Coyote 5.0 is inside...my company and coworkers produced the chain and timing components inside. Now that gas mileage has increased into the mid 20s..except the beloved Tundra....people can enjoy those trucks and suv's without the pain at the pump.
  20. Yup excellent service great products and a great fella to boot !
