  2. Since your looking at the Iwata airbrush, hobby lobby sells a screw on moisture trap that attaches right on your brush, hobby lobby has them . Doing military theme most builders use either tamiya , testors , or AK paints lately. Most are acrylic that simple 91 percent alcohol will easily clean .the testors is enamel, use their cleaner the ab will last yrs. I just replaced my iwata hpcs after 10 yrs, with another cause I used Delstar thinner and it melted the seals

  4. Wow wow that's impressive! !!! Can't wait to see it all painted up like the tractor , but don't rush on my behalf! That really makes my new lowboy project look tiny in comparison and I thought it was huge lol
  5. I actually didn't spend much time on the detroit..one of my areas I neglect coming over from the armor side . The cab won't tip enough to really see under anyway with the Texas bumper I botched that
  6. Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! ! I'm my own worst critic so I see all the flaws..lol That's not a bad idea Mike !!
  7. The light bar was purchased from police cars.com, and painted w chrome, gloss black, and smoke . The mirrors were scratchbuilt and resin cast , the mounts are pins I bent and installed in drilled holes. I'm very satisfied with the results even though there's numerous changes I'd made now..
  8. I'm calling the build finished , there's some thing hugely gratifying about finishing a build I've wantedto try for so long . just had to wait for my skills to improve before whacking plastic. Let's take a walk around the truck and show what I hope is a tribute to this amazing truck. That's about it! Any feedback welcome

  10. Thanks everyone for following along, it's been a fun build ! It's finally wrapped up I'll add a few pics under glass too
  11. Browsing the scale firehouse site turned up several options. One I thought looked very convincing is rustoleum key lime . Here's a pic of the can Hope this helps ya out ! Swing by the auto parts stores too, a well stocked one might have other options .
  12. I built the kw wrecker using the kw cab, the interior tub will fit with the headlight section ( cab corners ) installed. It's tight. I angled up the rear by bunk then slowly pinch the interior sides around the step "humps" it'll click in place. I left off the grill so I had finger room . Looks like a fun project so far
  13. Local shop had 205 fresh from the mail truck, great tribute to Harry !! Good to see the mag back in circulation
  14. Man mike that looks awesome up on its chassis!! Don't forget the basketball hoop behind the bunk !!!! Looking forward to all the chrome filling up the spaces it's gonna be fantastic
  15. The top one appears to be a step that can fold up when not in use Jim B nailed the bottom set
  16. Fixed hosting issue...this stalled project is coming back soon sorry for the long hibernation
  17. Thanks ! Now I can show the Texas bumper. . I buffed w fine steel wool then metal polish..ended up decent The lettering has been problematic, finding out gold rub on tranfers are very brittle and seem to refuse sticking to the finish.I tried 2 different sheets and same issue occurred. The white wasn't an issue. Tom B mentioned gold molotow pens so I'll use those -thanks tom Here's the truck as it sits tonite Any comments or criticism welcome
  18. Jim your ability to locate obscure items shocks me..that and the fact you found a resin toilet lol
