  1. Garys casting is nice and thin, not the blocks of resin ya have to grind half off used by many .
  2. I see a ton of possibilities with these cabs...namely the IH school bus I've been planning forever !! Thanks Dave
  3. Hey Rusty welcome to the forums !!! I'll offer my 2 cents about aitm, you'll be very happy with the castings , and the service is fantastic. Dave's a great guy to deal with and is willing take phone calls and definitely enjoys talking trucks As far as updating website inventory, he recently changed his site which is much nicer and easier to find everything, you've probably already seen it . He's really quick about replenishing out of stock items , I've had cabs shipped within a week or 2 . When he told ya tomorrow, the cabs were close to being ready. A quick email to dave should get your order placed Hope this helps
  4. Last episode I watched had an employee return after being involved in a n accident driving a Tundra , she looked pretty sore , but missed what happened. Jamie and 3 other heavy rotator were called out after a pete slid off road edge hauling wood, and it took the entire team to upright the truck without spilling a single plank...very impressed Is the Slammer the area around the huge tunnel ?
  5. Stellar work !!!! Your lines are super sharp and look great. We're definitely having fun with the Bear tributes !!!! Check your black stripes when ya start them..a few of mine looked like the ink ran low and has a purple look . Mainly on the ones that go right below windshield that taper
  6. Time for decals ! I'm using the fantastic set from model truckin..it's the truck and trailer set . I'm super impressed with them, they have a slightly thicker film over the stripes allowing several adjustments without tearing !! One issue I ran into was a few looked like the black ink was running out and they appear slightly purple. Here's the NYR Kenworth Bj and bear tribute a few touchups around the gold pin.. Now to see if my stripes line up... Hope ya like !
  7. Wow this is stunning, amazing paint work and the metal work is off the charts..just awesome
  8. There's the type wrecker body I'd like to scratchbuild eventually, boom tucked low on chassis
  9. Lol I use every trick or technique ive seen here
  10. Probably cause it's real chain lol I'd guess jewelry chain which is perfect for the rack nice job
  11. Most if not all US military equipment is painted using stencils and has a hard edge . Our booth used them for each type equipment, until everything was sprayed CARC tan . Touch ups which were frequent was done free hand . When I paint armor in 3 tone NATO or other it's with an airbrush and use silly putty or blue tack..
  12. Wow excellent progress! Going with a red ford engine will really be unique good call
  13. Wow that headliner is awesome What product did you use for that pattern or material it adds so much to an overlooked area
  14. Can't wait to see your progress dave , your daycab lonestar is fantastic
  15. Mike that's hilarious! !!! Yeah I usually wear nitrile gloves while painting this time I was rushing before dinner lol Tbill- thanks I hope it'll make it to the tables...been having a serious problem with squirrels getting in our house this year... Thanks everyone for the feedback I appreciate them
  16. That's cool..I'd make a custom truck w your special edition lonestar grill and my custom bumper and lights..I'll be watching
  17. Impressive to say the least! Funny to ponder a warehouse full of these molds just sitting there waiting to hopefully be used again and not sold for scrap My employer used to make powdered metal sprockets and gears. It was amazing watching the powder similar to dust compacted into a sprocket in seconds...thousands of time per week.watched a row of parts green(before heat treating) from compaction hanging on pin rack start warping like taffy.
  18. Well...I promised pics...enjoy I probably could've gotten the frame completely painted if it hadn't ended up .all over my support hand lol..another cans gonna be required . The cab has some mild blushing I hope will mellow out ...there's no clear on yet The tool box tops will eventually be chromed..there's entirely too much red
