  1. The instructions show them as optional, they didn't seem to function but I'll screw with them again
  2. Yep thought that was a cool touch
  3. Definitely send him a pm, he said the intakes were out of stock but hooked me right up service was excellent plus
  4. Just wanted to give a big shout out to Scott from Action modeler! I was looking for a specific engine for an upcoming project and he delivered in spades ! His base 426 engine and optional double plug valve cover w hilburn intake is beautiful.
  5. Good idea , theres not much room for a wire hinge up front
  6. Impressive work as always and trying new techniques that we can all use on our future builds to enhance them...thank you
  7. Thanks ! My buddy suggested the color , at first I wasn't sure hearing gold. He always has great ideas, and this colors flips and flops about 3 different colors on the Edsel body lines
  8. Have you decided how the hood will be tilted yet ? I just ran into that area , and gotta play around making some kind of hinge mounted up front behind the horse collar !
  9. Exactly !!! Walk away it's the best shine I've ever laid down ...come back later and its dulled down...arggg . My buddy said it's a trademark of lacquer, but it doesn't bury details unless I get carried away w layers of paint . Warming the cans , and not rushing between coats is helpful. I usually have times when it turns milky from humidity , but it tends to clear right up
  10. That's going to be a stunning build! Keep up the awesome work
  11. Not really anything fancy, I sprayed a light coat , wait 10 -15 minutes and spray again repeat as needed. The gloss doesnt appear right away during each coat, it always looks blotchy. I found it levels out as it sits. The annoying part is once I'm done spraying, theres awesome gloss...then as it gasses out overnight it dulls slightly being lacquer. I polish w novus 2 for improving the gloss
  12. Thanks everyone I appreciate the feedback! Today was foil day..another skill I'm slowly learning, but enjoying The roofline has so many different curves , finally broke them down into smaller sections. The wide strip on top of fenders isn't trimmed yet, the molding is very faint and wasnt ready to tackle it free hand yet
  13. I never refused entrants starting after the start date . Your definitely welcome to join us ! Your project sounds great. I did extend the build off til dec 31st because this lockdown mess so theres extra time to complete the build
  14. Thanks ! I'm slowly getting better w rattle cans Thanks its testors wet look clear . I sprayed the roof w 3 coats of white lightning which is basically clearcoat...so the roof has 3 more coats than the body
  15. Body is polished out , and decided to drop it on the frame for a look.. I'm still learning to polish these bodies out , using novus 2 w t shirt material. The roof turned out fantastic the body was slightly more wavy after wet sanding ..more practice needed
  16. My step moms Cherokee sport has the bigfoot , and jeep logo . Theres a Moab map under the passenger compartment also, never knew what it meant till now . How fun the designer's were adding these Easter eggs
  17. Outstanding builds We've gotta take a road trip soon and photograph the Charmin trucks together
  18. Actually that's the issue I had , the tabs seemed to long to roll tightly together around the wire hinge . Guess I'll have to check out the video too
  19. Excellent paint work , interior really pops too
  20. I wish the fella was still doing business in the UK, he had perfect sized working hinges for rigs Premade glue on and go..some reason they discontinued them The etch ones are nice and work well once done. Mine took awhile to roll correctly and keep things moving
  21. Your making good progress ! Keep it up
  22. That's beautiful together
  23. Yep , it's new in a bag guess the box was damaged
