  1. Thanks Kerry ! I'm really having fun building a dirty truck. About had a panic attack whe I mixed alcohol w the powders , and it looked ruined. Luckily I had sealed the top coat w dullcoat, and the alcohol didnt attack the color
  2. More work on the kw. I needed to replace the kit glass w takeout container plastic , looks more to scale . While I was screwing with the cab, I fashioned a visor from aluminum sheet time for dust ! Using a tamiya weathering pack and water i applied a thin wash around the edges of bumper and overall on the cab/ fenders. the bumper and cage need chipping, they look pretty new vs the deck lol
  3. Way to go !!!! I hear ya on work stalling build time , I was called back also
  4. Stunning work everywhere you look theres super details. Like the tip on the fluid levels , gotta try that
  5. Perfect stance and rockers look good . Really enjoying this build concept , totally believable
  6. Looks good!! Nice work trimming out the cab too
  7. Looks fantastic!!! Love that weedburner exhaust too Awesome work
  8. Outstanding work as always ! Building parts from a photo and turning them into detailed pieces is stunning. Looking at the fine lines on your grill and fenders is remarkable
  9. Awesome work really like the blended in tailgate
  10. Absolutely beautiful work love watching artists paint The sun ray pattern is stunningly simple idea once seeing the masking , but takes a steady hand to accomplish well done
  11. Huge improvement on those tires ! Now it will look like a real dump truck
  12. I snuck it back into cabinet lol thanks Thanks Thanks ! Being back to work really slowed my bench time but stole a few minutes to hang fenders today . I used the round headlights from the kit
  13. Oh yeah that's gonna be sick !!! That blazin black is gonna compliment the chrome box perfectly
  14. In my case it's the lack of subject matter I'm interested in. I like different styles of trucks compared to every day road tractors , so scratchbuilding is my favorite
  15. Scuff em w steel wool or scotch brite would be my choice . Brushing dullcoat over them would help too, but paint has a tendency to flake off the vinyl tires
  16. Awesome build Tom ! Hopefully I'll get a chance to see all your current builds in person once they reopen the state
  17. Wow functional lift gate too !!! Awesome work
  18. Horray !!!! When we finally get together for the group photo I'll bring my squirrels home..they're gonna eat you out of house n home !!!!
  19. Thanks , I'm very happy Oh yeah this truck wanted a monster engine
  20. My first attempt w salt weathering, and it was surprisingly easy. I wanted a heavily scuffed winch deck with multi paint layers . I started w red oxide primer, stippled water then dried w hair dryer ( thanks Tom for that tip) a few different color coats went over that then brushed off. The randomness showed thru after a couple times. Heres the results I'll add a few scratches once the deck is mounted on the frame which has started to receive some dust buildup
