  1. The cage work is fantastic, always enjoy your craftsmanship with brass
  2. Definitely watching this develop, and know its gonna be awesome. During my trip to Barney dickenson and seeing the boom crane there, it's a project I know you'll hit a homerun
  3. Very well done weathering The entire build looks great
  4. Lockdown day...never mind I've lost track ! I swear it feels like reruns of Groundhog day The boom is mounted !!! I wrapped the belt , built in some droop, and locked it down for good ! now it needs sway braces , and a million other small details before being finished...hopefully that's gonna be very soon
  5. Thanks Vince ! Gotta thank Tom B for the suggestion to pinstripe the white instead of wider stripes I was having a time laying out evenly . The last puzzle piece was priming the conveyor boom, I originally over built making a 5 minutes job eat up hrs . But it's in color now ready to accept its belt ! next time ya see it, that will be installed!!
  6. Your certainly keeping it moving !
  7. Nice change Tom ! You'll have it whipped in no time
  8. Ya know Kerry..on a hooker it's all about pulling power..the more ya can pull the more load can be moved lol Guess I've been watching too many episodes of HTH , and Mighty Moe
  9. Outstanding work !!! I actually thought it was a few reference photos at first, then realized it was a model lol. Glad Joe came thru on the artwork, they look perfect on this workhorse Congrats on a fabulous build , and thanks for participating
  10. Looks awesome Tom ! Thanks for suggesting this build , and helping me get going on it !! I'll be along shortly with a finished combo, waiting on the wheels to roll this up
  11. Cool engine upgrades Kerry ! That'll give this wrecker much needed boost
  12. Boy Tom the smallest details are captured ! Stunning build
  13. Awesome work, the details really stand out
  14. It's been several years, but I drug this old dog back to finally finish it. I was never happy with the half round lap welds, so CTM etch weld beads were used..absolutely love them. Its gonna be curbside, so it went right to primer . The cab is Tamiya Mica red , the barrel flag is started too. Painted it gloss white, added school stars, and painted the lower section Mica blue . Later it will receive its red stripes Heres where i stalled .. And a few hours later..
  15. I spy a set of moluminum steer tires !!! They're awesome tires for big work trucks like your building. The mockup looks fantastic, but I'd add a small stretch ..maybe an inch would keep the rear tires under the frame but not be obnoxious to turn in confined work sites
  16. I'm a visual builder, so blocking off stuff helps me imagine what it's gonna look like
  17. Scott said it perfect, having fun while building and sharing your progress is winning ! Theres no better feeling finishing a project , dont let a time line dictate it ! We're all here cheering ya on..a few of us are laid off and this actually has worked in our favor lol Stay safe and have fun
  18. I see you've been bashing away !!! Your doing an awesome job combining kits for this . I dont really have an opinion on the sides, maybe taping over the section your thinking about removing to see if it fits the " flow" of the truck
  19. Actually while I'm waiting for parts, the squirrels brought an old dog back to my bench.. Some may recognize this but first..out grabbing some groceries we decided to try a new marinade..time for supper
  20. We've been joking around about exactly that
  21. Looks awesome Tom ! I was shocked when we realized it's only been a week and were both close to finishing!!!
  22. Having fun building is winning enough!
