  1. This build came to fruition after Jerry Reeter printed a special edition set of decals for a Charmin TP trailer ...and chatting w Tom Billings we decided to start a mini group build. The plan is a fleet build , both of us building matching Mobius Prostars, and the Mobius 53ft smooth side trailers. They'll both have 2 hole budd steel wheels, and the Charmin tribute decals . I'm rarely a box builder , so this will make it fun having all the engineering done ! Heres the kits , and decals we're using I couldn't resist, so I cut out a few sections to mock up on the trailer . We decided to simplify things and use the roll up door option, a great idea !!! The fun starts tomo hopefully everyone follows along !!
  2. Thank you I'm very pleased w it
  3. Well , its finally reveal time ! After cleaning off the excess sand , hanging the bike inner tube flap over the rear bulkhead it was finished !!! A huge thank you to Chariots of Fire for braving DMV and getting the proper NYS plates for the plow, it's ready for duty !!! Thanks Charles Enjoy the pics I left some sand in the wheels to show pooling , surprised it actually worked out thanks to everyone following along and the comments I appreciate them !

  8. Definitely a cool build with tons of possibilities!!!
  9. Nice mock up !! That's not the amt low boy ...is that one of Kjs trailers
  10. Wow everything just looks spot on ! Even the box color is perfect imo for this truck showing off its curves . What rear tires did you use
  11. Your grapple looks fantastic! It will definitely add another dimension to your build
  12. The time finally came to add weathering, something I've been hesitant to attempt after the paint turned out good. I wanted a rain washed truck, where the elements had caused the salt / sand dust to "run off " and accumulate in low areas . This truck was in rough shape , everything showed heavy rust rot..aka tin worm, but I decided to model it in it's better days. I am using tamiya weathering powders, a sand colored powder w tap water . I started but putting on a thin mix and " rinsing " off the build up..some areas havent been washed back yet. The finished look I'm shooting for..the details stand out..even my weld date..and the dirt is washed off.. a little heavy right now..but highlights the details ..the rear bulkhead would have heavy dust from loading the hopper and rising from the chain The main plow is slightly too dirty right now , looks like they followed a state truck pounding their salt quota .. the one area I screwed up was gluing the tires on before applying any crud to treads , but I'll work some into them
  13. Sounds like the perfect trailer for this build ! Progress looks fantastic
  14. Fabulous scratchbuilding! These trucks really come to life with the bars added
  15. Very interesting build , looks like you beat the KW into submission, nice job I work in automotive supplier facility and we constantly have expedited trucks taking products to plants . There's a cool looking truck w a lion on the side
  16. Awesome results !!! Your truck has the heavy lifting look and fully equipped to handle tough jobs! Really like your etch grill, it's the one change I always want to make to my R model
  17. Our local grocery store in cortland ny was refilling paper products and buyers were picking up the usual items. The meat dept was well stocked , wife noticed the pasta isle was cleared out as was canned goods I asked stockman about paper products and they were getting delivery as soon as truck could arrive .
  18. Sorry to hear this show was cancelled, always a great turnout . See y'all next yr
  19. I was going to suggest Kilz brand primer , available in spray form. Sounds like your back to building though
  20. Still speechless ..every update is just coming blowing . Not sure if you've tackled the rubber flaps Gator mentioned, but would rubber from a bike inner tube work? I've been using pieces for mud flaps and such recently, and very happy with the appearance.
  21. Gorgeous paint, I've used their Wicked line w reducer and was very impressed
