cool find. if the freightliner is a 'day cab', it's probably the SD version [single drive], latest re-issue is the DD [dual drive] with the sleeper cab.

finally I can see it! that looks terrific, great color combo!

oh boy, you will be amazed at the stuff they have. as mentioned, scour the isles, you never know what you will find. I seem to be at 'ours' every other week........

getting closer, now have lights, horns and door handles and exhaust on. cab and hood are mounted now as well. these mirrors are going to test me though, 5 parts to them, and tiny to boot. the mirrors will be saved for another day I think...... thanks for following along. edit: it's funny how my cell phone camera skews things sometimes, the air horns are actually straight.....

wow, ya, you got some dust! i'm thinking paint whatever you are going to paint, set it outside, and let mother natures sand paper smooth it out [sand storms]. again, you were not kidding when you said dust!

this thread brought back a memory of high school actually. me and two other kids were into models, somehow we talked the librarian into letting us put built models in a display case that was built into the wall to 'advertise' the library, which was in a main hallway of the school. we all had different versions of the 'swamp monster' monster truck. as I remember it back then, once other kids saw what we built, they were digging it. I think we had the display for a month.

well, as I said, I do my own thing, so I cannot wait to see the looks on faces when I start to build the doll house I have stashed! seriously, have you folks seen the cool stuff for doll house builds in a Hobby Lobby??? not to mention the cool free printable stuff on line for all manner of accessories! I don't play with dolls, but the houses and all the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH you can get for them intrigues me. if it piques my interest, i'm doin it [as mentioned, if it's legal, and it doesn't hurt anyone ], and I don't care what anyone thinks about it.

not knowing the whole story on this [as mentioned, can be many sides to this] I will say this, I don't know what would be worse, losing the car altogether [initial theft] OR the finding it and not being able to get it back [after all the time that passed].

i march to the beat of my own drum, not real interested if someone doesn't like what i do on my own time. having said that, most people that find out i build, often comment that they did it as a kid, then when they see what i have built they think it's cool.

well, If it were possible, it'd be nice to see the whole Navistar line up would love to see a return of an IH coe in any form. and trailers, I agree with everyone else.....lol, anything else modern would be a welcome product. you guys are making great kits that are a joy to build, keep up the great work, looking forward to new releases.

Terry, yes, I plan to use the tank from the trailer kit. I've been thinking about some sort of rack too, but not sure where I will end up with that. Dennis, thanks. some of these grills are tough for me to try to detail, but this one has nice crisp molding in the 'mesh' area, so the black wash worked pretty good on it. Pavel, thank you. I was worried about my color choices, but it seems to have worked out

from what I have seen around the 'net', these things are really expensive, or have I just been looking in the wrong places? would love to build one. am familiar with r/c, maybe I just need to gut my losi mini t and stuff the electronics in an amt or revell rig

a few hours in the pool with my wife after work today, better than anything I could buy...........

yup, been there as well. only seems to happen to the perfect paint jobs....never the ones that are so-so..... from the looks of things, you'll be back in shape in no time, can't wait to see it done.
